• § sv.password = empty string. Ranked servers may not be password protected. Ranked servers are intended to be available to all players.
• § sv.numPlayersNeededToStart = (6 for maxPlayers 16, 10 for 32, 10 for 64)
• § sv.spawnTime 15
• § sv.manDownTime 15
• § sv.ticketRatio 100
• § sv.teamRatioPercent 100
• § sv.punkBuster 1
• § Though it is not required, EA requests that all servers run Friendly Fire at 100% for all settings, including mines (sv.friendlyFireWithMines).
• § Ranked servers must be entirely "pure" with no customization outside of the default content shipped by DICE/EA. Ranked servers will not be allowed to run Mods or CustomMaps, as we cannot ensure the balance of these components. Custom maps are never permitted.

I love playing on FF off servers, all the worries about tk'ers, rammers, accidental bombing, ect ect ect is gone!

Honestly, one of the things that generates the most steam in BF2 are idiots and teamkills. These servers just give you one less thing to worry about.

Too much of a major change (engine-wise) for BF2, but I wish that in BF2142 DICE would introduce the concept of safe zones.

I like FF in terms of general gameplay; it's only the TK'ing for jets, helicopters, and vehicles that is really the problem. With safe zones, they could disable FF around these particular assets (at their spawn location). That would pretty much solve all problems.

There's more to it than just that.

I dunno how many of my team kills are from nublets that think the big red skull is safe to cross.

But to me, that's just part of the game, a part that makes things interesting, diverse, and sometimes even entertaining. :)

If the driver does something oddball--like trying to take a shortcut over a cliff in a jeep--I just chuckle and respawn. But if I wait five boring minutes on the carrier for the Cobra only to get TK'ed by a sniper who's only been waiting 30 seconds, then I only get annoyed.
