You would get out of the vehical into the line of fire.

NO ...of course you wouldnt, but in Bf2 regardless if the logical side for exit is clear of obsticles ..you can expect to always always always step out into whatever is shooting at you.

Also in real life, I run at tanks with my knife out. It disturbs them greatly. I hope one day maybe the tanker will be so disturbed he'll just drive away.

You'd be surprised how often a tanker will just look at you in shock...

Sometimes it gives me time to jump on his turret and hang out there.
