Just one quick question, why does the SA80/L85A1 SUCK so much? Even when im prone with the scope up on single shot i can seem to shoot nothing but air! Im a sniper so im pretty good at scoped weapons but this one is shockin! Are there any tips people can give to so i can use this gun more as been a brit I like the L85:p

the accuracy of the weapons kinda useless but the one good thing is that it's a one shot kill to the head, so if you get a lucky shot in theyll die n one -

I had a guy in my sights with the L85 last night..I shot some shots at him and they hit him..all the rest of my shots missed..no matter if I stoped firing and let the recoil settle..and the crosshair never moved, I was in the same position with the same crosshair on him...we both didnt move, but the bullets just would hit liek they did a second ago.
It was like the gun would only hit with so many shots then refused to hit him anymore.Comment

It's unaccurate, but like he said, 1 shot to the head = kill
If its a prone enemy, its extremely easy to kill them.. just burst like 2 shots at their head until they die, or single-shot if they are far.
If someone is close.. just do what you would do with any other gun.Comment

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's almost as if the BF2 Gods of Random Deviation (or GoRD) have decided you are not meant to kill a certain soldier so they will make all your bullets miss completely for no apparent reason. It can be inexplicably frustrating, but take some solace in the fact that it happens to everyone else as well. Well, everyone that's not shooting at me, anyway. :p Both the L85A1 and the AK101 seem to be the worst offenders for me, but they've all done it at some point. Seriously they need to boost its dmg..no reason medics have a similar gun better dmg..I mean they get heals and revives..Spec Ops get C4 which was nerfed into near uselessness.
G36E 32 dmg.
G36C 27 dmg..
not fair for the class with no armor or self heals..Comment

I absolutely love this gun for short and long engagements of cat and mouse. Karkand is a good place to practice with it.
Learn to fire in short single or double bursts at long range. Also give a fraction of a second between bursts to re adjusts. Up close Full auto means you can spray and pray while moving around your stationary enemy. You'll have to get the feel for it.
Use short bursts though as the weapon really deviates if the first shot is bad.
This weapon at long range only takes three shots to kill a person in dead on hits 35 damage per shot. G36E is four bullets 33 damage a piece.
The G36E is a very stable weapon for a whole burst, but no pin point scope. So if you fire at long range one bullet will hit, but then that a waste of two bullets. Killing Accuracy. Up close, a spray an pray fire can be disaterous as you don't have full auto. Multiple clicks takes more time than one click.
So, over time the L85A1 really does win out for a veteran.Comment

I have.... that how I can review it so easily. 96 hrs in this game as a combat medic is a long time. I enjoy both weapons but if your able to stay alive as long as me then you run through ammo with the G36E too fast. L85A1 becomes your buddy as you can conserve ammo and still get a high kill count. We aren't always blessed with a support guy in our squad yah know!Comment

i find the L85A1 very accurate,1st reason i chose to use it was of the scope ,2nd was becuase i wanted the medic heal badge(basic)
as i usualy go for headshots i thought i id stick with that for the 2 rounds.
1st round 1 got 15 kills or so then got a little more comfortable with the L85A1
2nd round was devistating 40+kills (only about 20 from L85A1)brs 194
but i found it easy to burst in prone at distant tagrets and was geting headshots most of the time.
i prefer this medic gun over the other medic guns.
i dont know how it not accurute for others.
but if holding down fire then it losses a lot(obviously)Comment
