    Question about badges etc

As i start to really learn the ins and outs of this game... i started looking at collecting all the badges, medals, etc etc so as i dont miss any ranks. ( third night with game and im inches of ranking up past lance corporal )

When i look at some badges.... i see " 15 Minutes in a Helicopter in 1 round ".

Now.. i only play ranked servers.. and some rounds last 30-45 mins. Do they mean 15 minutes STRAIGHT? or just 15 mins overall? Because last night on more then 1 map i was flying choppers picking up players and flying around for almost the whole map. Of course with the amount of ace pilots, i end up getting shot down alot but all that means is i spawn back at base.. and head on out in a fresh new chopper.

So.. is it continual time in heli or is it combined time in a heli?

Thanks for any info you can provide :)

    Re: Question about badges etc

I believe it is straight, but it could be IAR. I've gotten my basic aviator and helicopter by being in one straight for the required time.

Just a guess though, I really don't know.

if its the same as the armour or air/ground defence then its cumulative time in a round but i have'nt got the aviator ones yet, just got the ones above...

No it´s 15 mins in 1 round, and not 15 mins straight time,so that means grab a chopper and stay in it for the whole round. I got my Basic Heli and Aviator badge at Wake Island, in the same round.:)

I believe its 15 minutes overall time, not straight.

If I'm reading the post correctly, the OP is wondering whether you have to be in the chopper for 15 minutes without getting shot down. If that's the intent, no, you don't. You need to be in one for 15 minutes in a round, though it doesn't matter how many times you've been killed. Another thing, it doesn't matter if you're the pilot or the gunner, as long as you're in the helicopter.

I think it might be different for the ribbons though. The other day I was going for my ribbon for jets...I got more than the required 19 kills...almost 30...but I don't think I went 15 minutes without crashing or getting shot down...needless to say, I never have gotten that ribbon yet!

For my Heli and Jet badges I played a Wake Island server limited to 16 players; there's plenty of jets and helis to go around that way, you don't have to fight or stand in line for them; and the rounds last longer.

when it says X minutes in one round... it DOES NOT mean X straight minutes in one round.

It means X cumulative minutes in one round.... the easiest way to get the 15 minutes in a chopper... jump in a blackhawk all round. Most of the time, people aren't using them. lol.

are you 100% sure that you were in a ranked server?

I noticed sometimes badges are bugged a little that even though it says you killed a certain amount with a plane or C4.... it doesn't always give you the badge at the right moment. When I got my expert BOOM BOOM badge, I had to get 40 C4 kills. And I KNOW, because I was watching carefully, that it SAID my kills were caused by C4 and not just [Kill].

Just keep trying... also, sometimes we think more time has passed than actually has.
