this bf2 version is ****ty compared top vid, i mean that wouldnt have taken much more processing power/ram etc its just it looks made with care and attention to detail not what we have now. any word on EA about this what happened to the old bf2?

Not sure but you can definately tell that this is a movie and not in game anyway...

If you have a decent monitor and decent spec PC then add a DVI cable to it then the intro movies to BF2 etc look just as sharp

This vid has been around quite a while, it's just like the the 2142 trailers,
hopefully the 2142 game will look different, just like BF2 was different when was released.

well we dont know what platform thats on so its not really false is it...

besides its a pre-rendered movie and is definately not in game so to compare it to the game its self would be pointless.

I think a lot of the infantry stuff was in-game... the animations for diving and rolling are still in game...

Keep in mind this was probably created and recorded on a PC you cant even begin to afford... I bet it is in-game beta footage.

IMO If that were so then why does the intro movie on BF2 which could well be this if they wanted, look just as good, but when your in game, you inevitably loose performance. That must have just been a movie.

Cause when your in-game the game has to adjust to your actions. This takes a lot more resources than if the game knows on forehand whats going to happen.

Of course, this is a movie. But it is certainly made in-game, with real player playing. Then, with the help from programs like battlerecorder, you can turn the graphichs setting up and produce a movie with this type of quality. Since the game now knows whats gonna happen, it can save resources.

The command-central footage is of course not in-game, as it doesn't exist. Unless it existed in some beta version unknown to me.

[EDIT]And have you ever seen an in-game footage of bf2 at ultra-high graphichs settings? Google it (image search), it is just incredible. Especially look at the AH (usmc battle heli), and the carrier. Its just awesome

This was a trailer promoting BF2 around E3 time.

Yes, this trailer was pretty much what made me want BF2. As you can plainly see, this isnt what we actually got. Oh, its close..........but way off at the same time.
Dont get me wrong, i love BF2.....its just what we paid for, isnt what they showed us, we'd be getting. not even close.


Isn't odd, that the game can look so much better................2 years ago.

Actually, BF2 can be like that but only on 16-player servers playing 32-player sized maps. In my opinion what kills that type of game is the snipers. I do agree that it is somewhat false advertising b/c that video make bf2 look like a real-time, first-person strategy game not a bunny-hopping, spamming arcade game.

Ya it was supposed to be like this but the scaled it back and broke much of it of to make extra money with the expansion SF, we was robbed still havent recieved a lot of what was promised...
