    Joystick or Special Forces?

I recently gained $40 bucks for babysitting my grandma's cat. (Hah get that. FORTY BUCKS! :p  )

Anyways, I'd like to get better at flying and I've always liked the idea of a joystick. However, I would also like to get special forces sometime.

Keep in mind, I already played at a lan center so I get the SF unlocks now.

So should I get a joystick or Special Forces?

If you say joystick, can you recommend one that is within my budget? (flexible $5-$10)

I have Special Forces, personally I think it is a complete waste of money. There's hardly any maps, they are all very small, the weapons are basically all the same with a few exceptions, there are a few new vehicles but they hardly add much to the game, I did like the grappling hooks however. All in all I played it for a couple of weeks before I realised it is nowhere near as good as the main game.

On the other hand, I don't use a joystick so I can't comment there.

I have both. It really depends. I don't enjoy and can't for the life of me fly jets. I haven't really spent a lot of time on them though.

I have spent almost 250 hours playing SF and if you've been playing vanilla BF for so long, the change of pace is nice. It's nice being able to use grapples and ziplines to get to place. No planes though. You'd be surprised at how new maps reinvigorate your game experience and how much you want to play.

I think it really depends on how much you like flying. but I give one and half thumbs up for SF... not the expansions though.. boo to them.

          Re: Joystick or Special Forces?

I dont fly much due to the MANY plane/helo hogs out there

However, when I get the chance to, I absolutely LOVE the feeling of swooping down and bombing the heck out of someone

So I'll probably buy the joystick.

Any tips on getting the plane/helo from the hogs?

P.S. I HATE commanders who hog planes. I had one the other day that took it 7 times in a row and crashed it within 15 seconds. Meanwhile I was waiting, then he tk'ed a bunch of people. He got banned. I smiled. The end /tangent

If you like to Fly either the Jets or the Helos, a Joystick
is a MUST!! My only complaint is the lack of suppot for the
hat switch!! I cannot fly with my right and and work the mouse
at the sametime. I've tried using my left hand with the mouse
and I just can;t get the hang of it.

SF... Well it was neat to get the new maps, and gear, but I
would go for the joystick first!

I actually like the Euro Booster, but apparently not many other people
do, because it is next to impossible to find servers running it? Maybe
I'm searching the wrong places, but I do not see many if any at all
            listed in BF2Autoloader.

Wait, I dont understand why you have to use your mouse...
The hat switch is the one between the 4 buttons on the head of the joystick right?
In a tutorial I looked at that used the joystick that was suggested^ used the hat switch if i remember right...

Buy Special Forces. We need more players on some seriously overlooked maps.

SF but you might not care for it.. the Force3Dpro is cheap and it owns.

Hmm I'll have to look into buying both. Heck im sure my mom will spot me

As for computer parts, I just recently upgraded. I'm saving up my summer job money for a new computer. No more upgrading for me. And BF2142, honestly, I REALLY dont like futuristic fighters. I'll look into it but if it is extremely unrealistic, I doubt ill buy it.
