Confused about badges

Sorry if this has been asked before, I am new here. Was playing as commander, had a really good round 100 points.
Earned my Veteran Engineer badge as commander. I thought that to earn a badge you had to earn points acting as that class i.e. healing if medic ,repairing as engineer etc.

you can get it in any way you want, you just have to be a certain class...
i got my vet assult while driving a tank as a commander...

You got the Enginner combat badge, you killed folks while playing engineer. This is different from the repair badge (which you get for repairing)

ya little subleties EA kinda missed ... you should have to use the class's kit to earn those badges...i felt cheap to get my expert sniper in a chopper...

I know you feel cheap, but think about how many times you probably would have gotten it legitimately since then? I mean, I am sure that when I play sniper I get 20 kills alot of the time. So, just because you did it cheaply the first time, doesn't mean you don't deserve it! :) just to make you feel better.

^ never thought of it that way! that does make me feel better.....when it is time to get my vet or expert badges i try to do it by using the class kit but sometimes ill be out messing around in a tank and get it by mistake.....and i feel bad

now i feel better

well except for my vet sf combat engineer.....theres no way i woulda gotten that one :)

still trying to figure out how to get my vet repair badge though....
