Warlord is my map of choice for the whole of BF2. It's a karkand killer :P
It can get a tad dark, but there are worse maps with fog alone, like Songha. I'm pretty damn sure a new monitor would help you pwn more on Ghost.

Agreed: Warlord is THE laggiest BF2 map, hands down.

I haven't gotten lost so many times on a single map...

I disagree that it's completely even though, the British (Apache) helo definately beats the Russian (Hind) one. IMO, I don't think that the Apache is too strong and should be nerfed to be compete with the Hind, but rather that the Hind should be buffed and made easier to fly, as the Apache is.

When I get in an Apache I can go a whole round maybe only dying once or twice, but I not so great in the Hind :p If I'm on the Russian team I perfer to steal the Apache when possible.
The HIND is a tank in the air.. It can take a bunch of hits and also has the ability to stay on fire (2 red bars left) without completely burning 'till it explodes. The one thing I hate about the hind is how wide it is and how wide apart the missles are because of the wings. You need to shoot at a somewhat longer distance then with the apache in that thing.

I take the chopper and I have it for half the round and die from a stray AA missile. (not very often)

This map has AA on every building, even one closest the base. One team always sucks and is raped. Linebackers accross from BOTH helicopter pads. A hill that tanks can drive up on and rape one spawn point with no intention of even thinking about leaving their precious tank to get the base. Snipers who camp the helicopters constantly. Its just a small map in my opinion. It needs to be bigger for what it has on it. Those two bases on the out skirts on the 64 man version. Tell me for what purpose those bases are even there for? No one can tell me. Theres no AA at those bases, they are spread out from the rest of the bases. They are easly raped. I can go into a ghost town server and own so I am not complaining. I am just looking at the aspect of which the map sucks. I guess if it weren't played 24/7 like warlord and karkand it may not be such a bad map.
I agree, sometimes I can be Impossible to take off, but then thats when you go back to armor/medic point whoring or PKM raping. The AA emplacements aren't that bad, because they only have 2 missiles... which both chopper can take, and if you fly low/use buildings you're usually pretty safe going back to get repairs. Tung's and Linebackers suck with their 4 missles tho...

Yes but its not just two. All of them can reach you. On a 64 man map your chances of being hit by several different points are very very good. Then to top that off theirs 2 linebackers. I usually spend about 95% of my time playing in between the oil barracks, and the big building that the snipers hang out on. Theres usually always someone on the main base AA, and theres always a linebacker near that you have to watch. Then usually you will have one person in the AA near the SAS main base, even if SAS has the base near that AA! Then you will have someone at the middle convoy base in the AA there. I get in that to shoot down a helicopter I am instantly shot out! Same with the linebackers tanks usually get me. Never when I am flying though, those guys who jump in that **** stay in it!

Yes and so does every other vehicle. They all will stay on fire, if they are hit correctly. It just depends. I've had it happen in the tank, and in the APC before as well. Its not just the HIND.
The hind is a flying tank, except when I get in the apache. If I can see the hind first, and he don't come down low on me with a gunner I can advoid the TV shots from it, and the missiles, and usually kill it with one round of 14 missiles (8 now). The hind sucks in air to air combat. It can take a few hits yes, but its manueverability sucks. Its harder to dunk in between buildings, because the hind will bump into everything, and anything just because how heavy it is. Its really good for ground pounding though.

DEFINITLY not a map for practicing your flying skills...you will get yer arse handed to you time and a gain if you are not GOOD. (I am not GOOD, I am ALMOST AVERAGE, so I tend to let someone else fly the blasted things!)

Its not a good map in my opinion, just to much AA, and the fact you can rape the helicopter spawn points is even worse! I think its two small. If it were bigger then the amount of AA, and even the two helos would be balenced!

I tend to agree...better if bigger. As for ground-pounding, its a kick-arse map!

Yeah its totally even when one side has an engineer armor fest and two awesome coordinated helicopter pilots with good gunners raping the virgin ass off of your non cap after your silly team lost all of the flags. TOTALLY BALANCED!

If you get an apache to 2 bars of life it will slowly burn up to explosion, Not with the HIND.... test it out if you think I'm wrong. Plus, 3 bars of apache health is less then 3 bars of HIND health.

The only thing linebackers cant take on are APC's and tanks and you can avoid them most the time. Mowing infantry and choppers is aweosme.
Warlord is WAAYYYY better than Karkand. For me it's

                          1. Warlord
                          2. Ghost Town

this is exactly what makes this map so good imho. helis are to sf what jets are to vanilla. helis are the gods because of their air superiority in sf. a map that allows you to keep them in check with proper teamwork is a well designed map indeed. i absolutely hate it when helos/jets can run rampant with little recourse.

i play SF almost exclusively and ghost is my fav map by far right now. i fly helo almost exclusively also. AA is not impossible to counter. however, a team of 2-3 people working different SAM points around the map damn near IS impossible to counter. kudos to any team that has done that. it takes effort on their part to make that happen. but more often than not it's just 1 SAM or AA that is trying to take you out and with some proper anticipation and good awareness it's not impossible to stay up the entire round in a helo.

what i like about this map is it's balance. the ground pounders can keep the air in check and the air can keep the ground pounders in check. it all boils down to teamwork and individual skill. NOT who got what first. its what every map should be.

I used to like that map alot. Then I started to switch over to night maps. a good 64 devil's perch game is really hard to beat. I suggest for those who haven't tried it go over there and start playing where you haven't been. Go onto the little island areas and look for people... like the far right side of the map is the place to be when the round starts. SO MUCH FUN!

Well then apparently you've not played me. I will make you hate ghost town if I can get up in the air just once. I can go 80 and 0 regardless of what my team is doing. My team getting raped back the spawn, with no bases. I am in the apache killing the tanks and what not. I mean I can do pretty good on the other maps to but not to the degree I can on ghost town. I am a chopper whore all I do usually is fly. I don't do much else. I can do fine on the ground, but I choose to fly. Either way if you play SF enough you'll run into me.
