    Re: Clan tactics

Well what we do is setup possible scenarios as to how your opponant may play against you in a particular map. All the strategies need to change depending on map .

We do our best to think, "What would my enemy do?"

We are SCE Southern Comand Clan
    Please email me at thebentmage@yahoo.com

If any of you guys want to scrimmage.

We play Thursday and Sunday nights as an organized clan. But you can find us online many other nights.

    Anyone up to it?

    Mashtur
    Karkand

First go get ATC for BF2, you can found it here http://www.foolishentertainment.com/index.asp?p=4&s=1 , then sit down with your team m8's and try to think some tactics.Next, play a lot of pcw,s (practice clan war)...you can arange it through xfire or irc and thats about it.Just practice a lot and in a while you will get some idea...

Unfortunately this is completely true. Competitive online gaming really brings out the dirty tactics if they are effective. You must use them to be effective, but if you Jihad, try to live through it as most good player actually do.

I disagree. If I'm squad leader and I'm a medic. ANY of my members can grab my kit and revive me. IMHO the best kit for squad leader is the medic kit.

                  Re: Clan tactics

I have only played in 32v32 matches so some of these tips and strats may not work as well in a smaller match especially 5v5 or 8v8...

                  1. Map, Map, Map - Always study the map both through ATC like mentioned and on a private server. It takes a few matches but soon you will be able to easily identify the "key" point on the map. There is one on almost every map. Suburbs for Karkland. Far east point with the chopper (and also the refinery) on Daqing Oil Field etc... Most of the time the "key" points will have a obvious benefit like armor, helo etc. Sometimes it can just be a point with good view of the enemies movements and is easy to defend. Know the cap distances and most importantly time to cap and with how many people. Time out the time it takes for you to get to a point and your opponent, with jeeps, jets and helos... This is good info on map starts.

                  2. Squad work - This is HUGE... Practice your squad communications and movements so everyone knows what is going on 5 pairs of eyes is much better than 1. ALWAYS spot the enemy!!! Train good SLs, they should be assigning kits and communicating with the commander. If not you get too many hands in the pot and not enough time to debate. SL should have the least kills and deaths, they should be hiding and moving. The squad should also be doing what ever then can to ensure the SL does not die or be found in an assault. Work on SPAWNING... There are a number of non-cheap spawn tactics that will same you tickets and make your squad more proficent:
Delay Spawn: Wait to spawn on your SL until he is at the flag or near it. If a plane takes his jeep out etc you loose 1 ticket instead of 6. Also use this tactic to ensure your at full strength. No point in having half your squad dead all the time, you are 50% less effective, have your squad wait until they can all spawn at the same time.

Spawn Bomb: Type of delay spawn, SL moves in with fast mover and squad spawns in on him when he drives right up to the flag. Many times you will turn the flag at least grey instantly.

Support Spawn: Squad spawns at a point to support another squad. While SL is moving to a point to setup an attack (usually a far flag deep in enemay territory). When SL is almost ready the squad will delay spawn on him. This tactic impoves troop use efficently by a ton. The supporting squad ALWAYS is aggressive while the squad they are supporting sets up defence and protects the flag themselves.

Cheap SL tactics (hopping, cycling): Use these tactics if it is not against the rules, your enemy will. Though I suggest that you create rules against these, at least SL cycling that one is weak...

Armor: ALWAYS have a man in your armor, assign one person or squad to each piece if you have to. ALWAYS communicate enemy armor status. The worst thing to happen is that the enemy steals your armor, the best thing to happen is you steal theirs!!! Let your team know their armor will spawn soon, you have a much better chance of getting it!! Remember Armor is a support tool, use armor to support a troop advance, never have a piece of armor take a point unless you really really have to.

Flags: Protect your flags... 1 5 man squad CAN defend 2 flags if mines and c4 on the flag are used. Practice c4 placement in all capable areas and have them hide to trigger it. You would be amazed now 1 man with c4 can mess up an assault on a flag. At very least is buys time for your team.

Be AGGRESSIVE: Someone mentioned that defence is easier than offence of a point. This I believe is misleading. If your team gets their flags and sits back and defends, you WILL loose to a decent team. Give them time to find your weak spot (there is always one) and they will get you with it. ALWAYS keep on the offensive! Even if its just 2-3 guys attacking the back points. It will keep them off guard and reduce the chance of them getting a good organized attack. How many times has your squad been moving to a point, get almost there and see your flag go grey, only to have to go back and defend or get it back? That was one assault on a flag they defended by attacking your point without even killing you. Know the map and which flags are loosable, attack other points keep them on their toes so they have to defend each point, they then will not be able to attack you!!! Kills are also very important. It you have a slow bleed, they can make up for it with kills so use your medics.

                  Hope this helps
