    Clan tactics

I’m looking for some advice. I’ve been elected by my fellow clan members to organize our clan, and develop strategy and tactics for use during clan vs clan matches. How do you guys approach clan matches. I’m looking for advice on bigger size matches ( 10 to 15 per side) as well as smaller matches (5 per side).

Do you have a set-piece plan in place at the start, or do you have loose objective? What works for your clan?

Any help would be helpful. Who knows, maybe we can scrimmage with your clan to test things out?

    simple:

    use always all armor vichles.

let the slowest tanks or apc get the first flag and the cars go fast to the second flag and hide the squadleader and be very annoying.

or use a plane to drop a squadleader and let your buddies spawn at the flag.
    ---------------------------------

and don't focus at to many flags, only if your team can handle it because it will be a mess.(turn then into a corner)

my best advice i could give would be to "adapt an over come"
the reason for this is you never know what tactics your enemy is goin to use.
i find that hell of alot of clans all jump in vechiles with the kits engineer an anti tank,
this way they repair them selfs on the move an also the anti tankers jump out an help along the way.
it also helps to have a medic in each apc for the anti tankers.
an if they dont stick together an work as a team then of course they get nailed as they move away from the pack.
basically its just like wild animals hunting stick with the pack an you get your goal.
      hope this helps a bit.

myself and one other member do all of our strats.... Just as an idea of how much we play, we're 15-5 on TWL's 8v8 NA ladder, and 14-10 on the 5v5 ladder, in addition to being on another power-ladder & 5v5 ladder @ nato-ladder.com.

We use ATC to set up the basic ideas and write out detailed strats, which we post in a private forum for our guys to go over. We practice when needed, and go over the strats before matches.

There's a lot I could go on about as far as strats go. One thing, while you may have set ideas as a group, all strats / objectives are subject to:

        1. the map you are playing
        2. your opponent (are they overly aggressive, defensive, etc..)
        3. the team you are fielding that night (not your top guys, your best, etc..)

I've played matches on just about every map out there, so I could go on forever about 8v8 or 5v5's. We have scrimmed 12v12 a few times, but aren't playing it competitively as of yet.... If you want info either pm me, email, or xfire - themisfitwork or themisfit1.

          Re: Clan tactics

If you want to win in a clan match (and this is from the few matches ive played) you have to learn to truly master the following tactics as most (NB: I said most, chill out) clans use them:

          1) Dolphin Diving
          2) Bunny Hopping
          3) Kamikazing Jihad jeeping
          4) Squad Hopping

And pretty much every other dirty, lame tactic you can imagine. Why these people cant play a game properly i dont know. Sad, but true.

Another favorite is to host the game on your own server and start the match and wait about 1 minute to see what your opponent is doing then restart the game and claim "Now we start"... then smash the enemy now that you know their strategy.

I hope that was meant to be funny.....most strats are fairly common. We have a few that aren't, but 1min won't always tell things. If not funny, then Lame.

                  Hmmmm... tactics for competitive play?

I think the "cheap" list about sums it up:

                  1. You have to have a good Solo-Gunner.
                  2. You have to be willing to Hop.
                  3. You have to be willing to squad hop.
                  4. You have to be willing to use ANY tactic you personally think is cheap because your opponets will use it against you instantly.

...I think that about sums it up.

                      Re: Clan tactics

The basic fundamental thing to remember when playing clan matches, regardless of number of players is ticket count. You obviously want the most tickets at the end of the round.

Clan matches aren't about getting the gold stars, its about the count.

With that said, controlling half +1 of the control points is your priority. This way the natural drain of the tickets is in your favour without firing a shot.

It is always easiest to defend CP's than to assault them. Once you have the natural ticket drain in your favour, sit back and mount the defensive positions and take out the other clan as they desperately assault the CP's in your hands.

                          Re: Clan tactics

Don't listen to all these n00bs that are whining about dolphin diving and all that, the best teams win through strategy and tactics, tricks like that just help them achieve that.

First thing to do is look at the map, how it is designed, how many vehicles there are and how many players there are. For example, use 16 player Kubra dam. Each side gets 2 jeeps, and 1 tank. That means you can get two jeeps to rush a flag at the start and one tank, so you will probably want an engineer with that. Thats just a real simple example of how to assign roles to people, and remember to bring lots of medics. Kill whoring doesnt work in clan matches, you can go 40-0 and your team will still lose. Anti-tank is great because when you kill someone with the rocket they can't be revived. Oh and don't bring a support kit along because you think the extra ammo would be good, that kit is worthless.

Also, get a good strategy down for the entire round, not just the start. While the starting rush is probably the most important part of the startegy (rushing flags, usually whoever gets to the flag first gets it) make sure to have a solid strategy for the rest of the round. Know what to do when someone takes a flag, just make a strategy and then think of what could go wrong or what else could happen then think of ways to work with that.

Competitive play regardless of what some people think is not only cheap tactics.

One thing to remember is no matter what your strategy is, be adaptable to change. Scrim as often as possible. Matchs are 100% different than playing in a pub.
