    Helicopter/plane for dummiest of dummies

Hello gentelmans and... maybe some rare lady who accidentally get here

So strickt to point: I collecting badges as probably you all and have most of them and more than half veteran, but on sergeant major as I see there are prerequisite of two badges from those that I dont have... yeap, choper and plane. Although there is very long way to sergeant major for me, but sooner or later I will be there, so... My relation with flight simulators is even worse than with FPS. There was only one flight simulator that I played on my life and for very short period :) (that was about WW II ). So as you can guess, I don't like flight simulators (and what for BF2 here are enough long queue to get them because many ppl want to use plane or choper)
But since I want those badges I have to use plane and choper will I like it or not :hmm:

So it would be nice if expirienced pilots and gunners would answer next questions and give some advices. And preferably answer to make very detalised as for person who do not know what for is that rotating p o r o p e l l e a .. r r on top of choper and do not know where sit pilot in plane (well, maybe things are not so bad but close to it :p )

    1. When i try use jet I found out that ... map is too small I constantly run outside of borders and get killed for deserting. Should I correct that by lowering speed (don't keep accelerator on 100%) or maneuvering at max speed.

    2. Whenever I shoot TV missle I miss - correct its target from long range is ok, bet when it is close to target and target moves out of it, and since choper moves all the time then relativelly to me target moves (with quite good speed) till I shoot rocket out but if it is not launched exactly on target because of moving it makes harder to correct it. So should TV missles be used only when pilot keeps choper still?

    3. Why my plane and choper often try to ... I don't know how to say that correct in english - fall on his side, even when I do nothing.

    4. keybord+mose or joystick? ... or both ?

    5. Anything else you would like to say to somebody who haven't foggiest notion about flying?

    1. Well i normal use full power when i'm in a dogfight, but when i'm getting pursuit i some times lower the power to get away. What i can say about the question is always keep an eye on the HUD.

    2. When you shoot a TV missile from a copper click the mouse to correct the missile all the time until it hits the target.

    3. I don't know what you are using ( keyboard and mouse or joystick ? ) but if you use keyboard and mouse try to correct the copper/plane so it is in horizontal. If you use a joystick and the joystick is push to one of the sides it will fall to the side or if your joystick is not calibret.

    4. I can best use joystick but some can best use keyboard and mouse, but that dependent on what you like best.

    5. I can only say practise practise and practise e.g. in a singleplayer map.

Hop that will help you a bit and god luck practise

Can i just add to that, practise on SP OCS because that is by far the best map to learn to fly on - its the largest of the SP maps and also has all types of aircraft. If you try and learn on a pub... well expect to spend a lot of time getting TKd at the spawn.

        Thanx for advices :)
I got my basic on transport chopper yesturday :)

Question about bombing - I can see where my rockets or gun hit, but with bombs I can only aim at target then press button and hope, because I dont see how and whom bombs hit.

Is there any hints for bombing?

Bind 2 Buttons on your mouse/joystick:
          1. Cockpit View
          2. Chase Rear View

That'll help you see where your bombs land. It may help to learn how to fly while in chase rear also if you are being chased by an enemy plane. Thats usually how I do my maneuvers
