Why do I get "Connection Lost"???

After an hour of Game play I get "connection Lost". If I reconnect I get "Connection Lost" right away. If I restart my computer I can play with out losing connetion for another hour or so. I have ruled out my cable internet provider. I thought that it may be a over heating problem, but Everest Home says that all my temps are ok.

What is going on here???

AMD X2 4400
EVGA 7800GTX
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
Corsair XMS 2 Gig
WD 400g 7200RPM HD
Antec 550W Power

I doubt its your temps or even your hardware, I used to get it alot not as much now maybe now and then but im not sure what it is and I think most people get it, suppose its generic, could be anything from the server to your connection to the server etc.

The strange thing is that it happens just about every hour and I HAVE to restart to get my connection back...

i tell you what i think this F****N PunkBuster taking screen shots all the way and sending them from our PC thats why we getting connection lost!!!!!!!

I used to get it sporadically eventually I had so many problems that I've basically reinstalled and updated every driver from chipset to mobo, bought a new graphics card and it went away, not completely but became a once a month annoyance rather than daily. Just put in a new router, wahayyy it's back...so we are in the same boat.... if you search all the previous threads I'd be really surprised if you didn'tl find something specific to your graphics card, happy reading and good luck!

I bet it's your NIC card. Are you using your onboard network card? After never having this issue, I recently upgraded my P4 2.6 on a asus mb to a ASRock Dual SATA2 mb with a AMD x2 dual core 4200+.

Now I have this same issue. It's not every hour, but every once in a while...i will lose connection and I can't connect to any server. This does not correct itself until I reboot. Maybe throw it a pci Nic card for $20-$30 and see if it fixes the prob.

Of course, this ASRock mb I have is very buggy with games/BF2 if you want to use the AGP slot instead of the PCI Express. (MB has both) So maybe it is also related to my video card and AGP slot. I guess more info is better for a subject like this then not :).

It has to do with time to send the first verify client data package, if its your first load than the first verify client package takes a long time to get there, in that time you might time out.

the problem is that bf2 doesnt support dual core processors. i use to get connection drops all the time but then i set it up to run off one core and havent had a problem since. i guarantee it. search the forums for how to fix it permantly.
