Something unique about EA's Battlefield 2 Movies

I just noticed that all the BF2 intro movies (bf2, bf2sf, etc) and the recently BF2142 Titan Trailer have cool camera movements which cant be found in batttlerecorder.

Is the camera movements edited in video editor or is there any ''hidden camera movements" other than the ctrl, z, w, s, a, d, that is found in bf2?

I think EA might lock the hidden features so that the user-made videos will not complete with their videos lol

Nah, I'm pretty sure most of the effects could be achieved by recording at a really high resolution and then cropped to give the proper "feel" to it.

I believe there is a program you can get that allows you to map keys to your joystick. This then allows you to use the smoothness of the analogue joystick to create smooth camera movement. Some meece do not have the resolution required to produce non jerky movement, that is so noticeable on some films.

no.. what ea's films have is no actors whatsoever.. everything is on a timeline..

they create their own scenes, and their own camera movements then they just play it..

        i believe

What Keyelite said is quite logical. There would no reason why the marketing team would take the time to get a bunch of guys performing together when they have the tools right there to script the whole scene before it plays. Not only movement, but where the enemy fires and drives etc. They say it's actual game footage (probably won't risk lying) the camera placement and zoom would be to do with POV setting which you can define now, but not on a timeline. That's just 1 tool they have which we don't. They made the movie to sell the game, no time wasted and no flaws... except for the battlefield laughable prone animation you see. They can't make there own character animations for movies though, that would have to be in-game already.

It's been one of my dream careers I've always had since I started movie making, the possibilities are endless for intro movies for any game in question. A career I'm still looking into.

Both of you means that the actors are all bots and the EA programmed them to do all those actions?

Yeah.. Everything is on a timeline.. The zooms, the path of the missle.. the cars.. How they died (ie when that one machine gunner died and his gun rolled off.. not sure why they dont have that in the actual game now).. and at the ending.. they could have triggered that specific "fly swatting" animation instead of waiting their for it to happen..
