Patching to Special Forces

I just bought Special Forces. Is it okay to update my BF2 game with it, as I know this patches my game with the 1.12 patch(I have 1.22). Is it safe to patch 1.22 with 1.12? I'm afraid I will have to totally reinstall! Thanks!

Also, I have another question, I just gained a rank in BF2 (without unlocking anything yet). Once I install Special Forces, can I use this new rank to unlock a M96?

This is what you should do.

1. Download the full 1.22 Patch

2. Install SF

3.Patch game with full 1.22 Patch

4.Play SF

As for the unlocks to get the level 2 or SF unlocks you must have the level 1 unlock first.

So to get the L96 you must first have the M95 unlocked.
Depending on your current rank you will pickup unlocks after the install and patching of SF.

Yes

Just don't try to play until you patch back up to 1.22

Just do things in the order I listed and you will be fine.
