Widescreen monitor + 6600 card

i wanna get this monitor, but the max res on it is 1400 by 900.
When I got to the adapter setting in Windows and click List all Modes, it doesnt list 1400 by 900. Does this mean that that res just wont work, or is it because of my monitor, which is not widescreen so the card is just listing all the modes available for a reg monitor??
EDIT: Its a 6600 card, just to clarify. Not the GT, the vanilla version.

Im pretty sure its only listing the modes your current monitor can display.

But it goes all the way up to 2048 by whatever, and my monitor cant support that. It actually cant go above 1280.

Google the card model and resolution, should find the answer. Just because it says it in windows- as ever- doesnt make it true, but id have thought your card could do the res that monitor says but i wouldnt expect great frame rates with any eye candy turned on.

Yeah, I looked online and it might not be supported. But why the hell would that be? 1400 by 900 is a very popular res for widescreen 19 inch monitors.

It also skips the 1680 resolution...
