Piloting Troubles

I used to be a pretty good pilot but after the updates I am having a hard time adjusting. Especially at Wake Island I keep getting shot down by other planes. No matter what manuvuer I do the good pilots stay with me, the crappy ones give up and then I can come down and destroy them. Why is this happening? Ive looked at all the guides and it seems like all the planes get away from me but when they come after me I cannot get away. For instance the other planes and can just turn as hard as they can I have trouble locking on to them but when I do the same things I get shot down in a second. Is there something about joysticks I need to know or is there some trick or special manuever because no matter what I do it always leads to me gettings shot. I never have problems with AA or other ground stuff, they represent most of my kills, especially at gulf of oman. But recently ive been getting shot down on a regular basis. What can I do? Second I have never had any sucess with guns, I always use missiles becuase I never can get close enough and put enough bullets in the other plane to down in even in air to ground mode. Also is there a difference between the mig -29, J-10, and the f-35, and f-18. I tend to like the mig-29.

Well, J-10 is superior compared to F-35 on Wake Island. Last patch made this unbalance to be a real map spoiler. But if u get constantly dropped by F-35 while flying J-10, I suggest moving into infantry.

I'm not any super pilot myself but few things I've noticed. Keep your missile sight off while getting in the tail of the enemy, then switch to missiles, get a lock, shoot 2-3 shots and switch off again (he thinks that it was some random AA site that lose the lock, instead missiles are coming his way). Don't try to shoot when contact angle is too large, better to sneak in his tail and then do the job. With cannons, get real close and aim for the engines.

Must admit that there are players who can avoid my missiles almost 100%, even with a bomber. Just don't know how they do that but they can. I use cannons against these opponents :)

Don't know if u already know this but remember that there are a bullet drop and time of flight in all projectiles in the game. One must remember to correct his aim by the distance, moving direction and speed at all time.

Also set a toggle on your joy stick for rear view and regularly check ur 6
