    Can't get VOIP

I have an Audigy2 ZS sound card and a Sony DR-260 USB PC headset. The headset works fine in Vent & TS and works fine when I test it in the sound control panel.

In game there is no response from the mic test. The boost mic option is greyed out, sliders are at 100% except for the one above the signal which is 10%. In the BF2VoiceSetup.exe there is no response as well. In game I can hear other people but they can't hear me.

When the USB headset is connected the settings are the following in control panel:

    Sound Playback: USB Audio CODEC
Sound Recording: USB Audio CODEC (Volume & Advanced are greyed out)
    Voice Playback: USB Audio CODEC
Voice Recording: USB Audio CODEC (Volume & Advanced are greyed out)

When USB headset is not connected the settings are the following in control panel:

Sound Playback: SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio [7C00]
Sound Recording: SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio [7C00] (Advanced is greyed out)
Voice Playback: SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio [7C00]
Voice Recording: SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio [7C00] (Advanced is greyed out)

I've read a number of the topics and either there were no solutions or the solutions/problems were not the same as I have. Can anyone please help?

    Re: Can't get VOIP

Make sure you have bf2, or any sound making app (winamp) closed first.

Okay....Hey, I hope u r still around to see this but I had the same problem, nobody knew how to fix it, but somebody got it eventually.

Okay, go to START (from desktop), RUN

    Then type DXDIAG

    Now click on SOUND.

From here u will see a bar at the bottom, probably turn up to FULL ACCELERATION.

Now for some reason this caused my mic to not work, so just turn the bar down two levels (basic acceleration), wait a sec for it to load or w/e, then click Exit.

      Re: Can't get VOIP

      No go.

Tried it with both "Sound 1" which is for the mic & "Sound 2" which is for the sound card and which when the headphone is not plugged in is just "Sound". No change in the BF2VoiceSetup test or in game mic test.

Also something I didn't mention is that I have a mic built in to my monitor, just above the screen. I don't use it and have no idea how to disable it or if it's causing this problem. I didn't bother mentioning it because my mic (headset) works fine when I test it in windows, vent or TS. Also I've seen a number of people with the same problem (voice setup program not responding to mic) and I don't think they all have mics in their monitors. But who knows, do you think it might have anything to do with it?

BTW, thank you for replying anyway. Any & all assistance is appreciated. :)

So, anyone have any other possible solutions? :hmm:
