    MG36 compared to M249

Is the MG36 pretty even with the M249 or is it alot better? I know the PKM is alot better than both but I was wondering what is better between those two.

I actually prefer the SAW over all the support weapons. Support was my first expert badge and I did most of it with the SAW.

The PKM is a weird weapon. Sometimes it owns outright, other times to me it's just not that great. I have yet to figure out exactly how to aim it. I often times will be prone and firing in bursts on someone and it does absolutely nothing, then I get wasted by the other guy's L85 or something. Then other times you can snipe a guy from sniper range.

I think I like the standard SAW better for almost every situation except long range.

Even being the most accurate machine gun, I still can't stand the M249. The muzzle flash obstructs your view when you look down the sights; the firepower is low; and I find the accuracy in bursts/full-auto to be iffy.

Aside from the crappy sights (the sights are off and point above where the gun is pointed), I like the MG36 because it's a lot like the RPK-74 in that it has acceptable accuracy, rate of fire, and damage.

Not really sure: Both of them aren't as good as the PKM, so I nearly never use them :)

I like the MG36 better than any support gun.

The mg36 is the best support weapon...

I had a post about the differences on the support guns a few days ago, im looking it up as we speak. Or type.

                  PKM http://wiki.bf2s.com/weapons/unlocks/pkm
                  Magazine Capacity 100
                  Extra magazines 5
                  Damage 45
Rate of Fire (Rounds per Minute) 450
                  Fire Modes Auto
                  Deviation Standing / Crouching / Prone 3/1.2/0.8
                  Recoil 0.25 - 0.45
Shots to Kill Non Armor 3
                  Shots to Kill Armor 4

                  M249SAW
                  Magazine Capacity 200
                  Extra magazines 5
                  Damage 25
Rate of Fire (Rounds per Minute) 900
                  Fire Modes Auto
                  Recoil 0.25 - 0.45
                  Recoil when Zoomed 0.5
Shots to Kill Non Armor 4
                  Shots to Kill Armor 6

The recoil is actually just the same, only difference is the rate of fire and damage per shot.

MG36 is actually a pretty decent gun, performs the support role the best for it's fire-rate, but it doesn't necessarily kill half as much as a hit from the PKM, I would agree that it's a gun mostly for medium-range combat and suppressing, and even if on 3 shot burst- it has trouble shooting straight at long distances.
