Uh, a little confusion here. That's a semi-auto M14, which Springfield calls the M1A, but a lot of people think M1 Garand when you say M1.
But yeah, good idea: M14s could've been included as the semi-auto sniper rifles for the USMC, as an answer to the MEC's Dragunovs (SVDs).

These rifles retain much of the original design of the M1 and BF2 could use a modern version. The M14, SOCOM II or whatever that is looks nice. Its a semi auto close quarters combat rifle according to Springfield. Chambered in .308 win (7.62mm NATO).
I want one irl.
