Battlefield song

Well in the Battlefield series they had the same um.... tune? (When the intro starts, or when it ends and your see the big "2")

I love that sound but I think they should change it for 2142. Maybe change it to an electric guitar?... Anyone have any thoughts on the battlefield song.

in all the BF games(except NAM) the main song had the same basic feel to it, that DON DA DA DA DA(hehe) type drum beat in it, so I hope the BF2142 song has the same feel to it, but more futuristic.

I have an electric guitar (or three).

I'll see if I can tab it, and record it in heavy flange and distortion.

I dont know how to download the song but to put it in the loading instead of the default music you have to get a converter to change the song from mp3 or whatever it is (mpeg or whatever) to .ogg format, you can use the 'Allok OGG MP3 Converter' (just google it, you will find a download), once you convert it to .ogg you need to go to
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2
open up the "Common_client.zip" file, then go to
Sound/Menu/music/
inside of the music folder there will be a file called "load_MEC_music.ogg" you need to rename the song that you downloaded to load_MEC_music.ogg and replace the original bf2 file. thats all ya gotta do, but i suggest making a backup of the original file cause you cant play of ranked servers after doing this, you get kicked by punkbuster because it thinks you are cheating, but you can still play unanked and singleplayer without any problems.

ya, i tried that, and for whatever reason no music would play, and i couldnt play cuz of modified content error.

hmm...it worked for me, i was playing linkin park on the loading screen...maybe i explained it wrong...no i re-read it just now, thats exactly what i did before. thats weird though.

*NOTE*
Dont forget to save a backup of any original files that you end up changing incase you need to revert back!

but you can do it this way still, instead of re-naming it to load_MEC_music.ogg, just leave it whatever the name is (e.g. linkin_park.ogg) and put it in the music folder where the other .ogg files are. next go to
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\(level you want your music on, for example "Strike_At_Karkand")\Info
in the "info" folder there are a few files (like 7 of them) open up the one that just says the mapname (e.g. Strike at Karkand) with notepad, or wordpad, inside of this file you will see a line of script that looks like this
"<music> common/sound/menu/music/load_MEC_music.ogg </music>"
all you should have to do is change it like this
"<music> common/sound/menu/music/linkin_park.ogg </music>"
only instead of linkin park just change it to whatever song (make sure the title is spelled correctly or it wont work) you put in the "Common_client.zip" file
