Well I dont know how strict your parents are about not customizing or why they would be in the first place but there are much better deals out there rather than an XPS in my opinion. Here is an example...

A much better computer for about the same price, you would be getting SLI among many other things. I guess I havent bought a computer in awhile though, I just build on bits and pieces on mine so im not sure of the price market atm.

Not high-end, but runs any game decently. Expensive though, I bought mine over year ago and it costed less and has virtually same configuration. You don't really need Antivirus/Firewall software. Get freeware ones which are definetly better than those (Kerio, AVG Free...) No, I wouldn't buy it.

Not bad, you should be just fine on medium-high. For all high settings you'll need another gig of ram.

If at all possible, try to stay away from intel processors if you want to play games.

I would say medium to med-high. while that one is dual core, bf2 is a pentium mhz and ram whore (imo). I would also look closely at the specs of that lcd and make sure it has a low response rate, hopfully under 15ms.

if your really considering dell, keep an eye out on www.passwird.com and www.spoofee.com for the bigger dell percentage off coupons.

medium easily. if that 68 is a GS, unlock the 4 extra pipes, get that 2nd gig of RAM and High should be doable. And yea, McaFee, Norton, all suck compared to the freeware $hit I use. All u need is Ewido security suite from www.ewido.com and it cleans trojans, viruses, unwanted tracking cookies and any other BS malware not wanted on a machine. Maybe I missed it, but what kinda PSU does it come with? and I'd tell DELL you want XP professional on it. They gave me Home Edition and you can't do jack to regulate your LAN or administrate much.
