Retail to 1.22

So, I decided to give BF2 another shot after I haven't palyed it in about 9 months. So I download the lastest patch, 1.22, and try to patch my game. When I execute the patch it doesnt open the install sheild. It makes 2 BF2 patch processes that don't do anything. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Download the full patch again. If it still does not work, rinse repeat.

I've downloaded it twice from two different sources. Once of them the Official EA site.

My friend had the same problem, it turned out to be faulty RAM, download Memtest and see if your rams ok.

how long are you waiting? For me it takes a really long time for it to open it. It might be working. Try leaving it set for a while.

It was the same for my friend, could play css, install other things fine, but not BF2, try memtest and see what you come up with. Worth a shot to get the game going.

Well, I it started working for one of two solutions. Solution 1: Just wait and the patch GUI should pop up. Solution 2: I changed the names of the background movies and legal movies to blank.bik.backup, as I was changing them back the BF2 patch came up.
