Any one got any tips that don't involve stat padding to get this badge i.e which maps best etc

Do you realy think that there was NO thread about that??!
Use the search tab in the uppper right corner of the screen its the 3. from the right, choose advanced searching and type: "knife badge" without " " and dont forget to choos "search in thread name" or somtihng like that.... good luck

i got all three of my badges in karkand....
join a squad close to action, be medic, so u can self heal, and use more sprint, and pay close attention to that sprint meter, and u can get points for revives/heals too......use everything for cover....when going for the stab, try to go prone, chances are you will either miss, or get a hit that doesnt register if you are standing.....be sure to zig, and zag when comming in for the kill, try to jump to their rear, or side so they have a lil more trouble getting hits off
When i played karkand for the knife, i found the best circumstances is when MEC has most/all of the bases, i only cap a point if i am MEC, and got most my kills between hotel, and square, or hotel and the front-most US uncapps

How hard is it to go to a pistol/knife ranked server and get your badges there? Just use the search in the BF2 server menu. And using your brains is also very recommended.Comment

Got mine playing on larger sized servers.
So many grunts / snipers running around its not too hard once get hang of stalking. Get nice + personal with that knife. :)
In general - think people fire too soon.
You alert your enemy way too early. I admit to being guilty to it.
Unless you've got skills at long-range - cool to be sneaky.
Sneak behind infantry. Few are cautious enough to spin round + check blind spots + behind themselves.

well, its very hard when your stats keep gettin wiped for playing in 'illegal' servers that are in violation of the ROE....Originally posted by Paddington

One more quick tip, get on a server running a 64 player map with only about 20 people on it. (I know thats been said before, heres the twist) After the round has lasted about 20 minutes and the score is still 200 something to 200 something people will start to camp certin spots, hunt them down and kill them. If you see a flag that changes hands a lot go to the other side of the map and turn one white and wait for an enemy to come and try to take it. That way they come to you, pretty easy.
