I saw a real bad one of these glitches the other day, he didn't just have a red tage, but he looked like my team, so I shot at him and it said team damage. He wasn't on the minimap either .
I've seen the blue bug alot lately. Guy is in enemy uniform but name is blue. He doesn't show up on the mini map and I also get punished for a TK by him after killing him!! He shows up on the enemy list when checking in-game scores.
At the same time my friend playing the same server said he had the red bug on himself. We've both seen a rise in incidents like these in the past month or so.
I see it alot and actually lost 12 points shoting the same guy in one round. He was a sniper, so it was hard to tell from his uniform and all I saw was red so I fired (with APC). Ruined my whole round and I had to quit playing from BF2 rage and knit a sweater before I had a stroke. Rumour has it, it is caused by excessive voluntary team-switching.
I have seeen this a lot lately as well. Just this past weekend I played in a game(I was a sniper) saw another sniper near our flag in Oman, I shot him, got punished for a teamkill. I checked the teams, he was listed on the other team. I saw the same guy a few miutes later near the same flag, I killed him again, got punished, and to add insult to my injury this guy starts a 'kick vote' on me. I explained what was happening and was very careful the rest of the round. The very next round on Kubra, I killed an enemy engineer fixing his APC, left him his kit but took his APC and right after that I had not 1 but 3 of my teamates trying to kill me(1 C4 jeep, 1 guy tubed me, and the third guy was actually the same guy I killed twice the previous round due to the red tag bug, he tossed a grenade at me, so I got the hell out of the APC and he proceeded to unload his entire clip at me, then switch to pistol and unload that clip and then finally drop a grenade at my feet and run away(I NEVER moved once during that massive barrage) so I died.Then I spawned at the same flag he just took, and he sees me again and unloads another clip at me!! then the pistol again, so I shoot my MP-7 at his feet, and that drives the guy nuts, he thinks I am trying to kill him, so he unloads another clip in his pistol on my STILL UNMOVING body. I die again, and he is booted from the server for too many teamkills.
I am sorry...but I laughed at that~~ Not so much at him getting booted but the fact that it took him 2 G3 clips, and 2 pistol clips as well as a grenade to do me in twice while I was standing in front of him not moving...I wished he had of stayed with his sniper kit and stayed on the other team with that kind of steady eye~~
Red/Blue tag bugs I think are client side somehow. I've seen it where one of my clanmates is red but the other people see him as blue...it's happening at the same frequency as before.
