How to make screenshots in BF2

Due to the fact that almost every week someone comes along asking how to make/find screenshots, I've made a little tutorial:

Making screenshots in BF2 is very simple. All you have to do is press print screen (or prt scr, or whatever is written on your keyboard) ingame. Your screenshots will be placed in:

    My Documents\Battlefield 2\Screenshots

    (Full directory: C:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Screenshots)

There will be two files for each screenshot: A low(er) quality Jpeg, and a high quality PNG file

You can only take screenshots ingame. If you want to brag about your score, press print screen, open up paint, select paste, and save it. If you 'copy' anything else or use print screen again you will lose your nice screenshot, so don't forget to paste and save it!

If you want to remove the HUD (menus on the screen) ingame, bring down the console by pressing ~, and type this in: (Caps sensitive)

    renderer.Drawhud 0

Imageshack Is a good place to upload images

    have fun now,

    -Sarge :)

To make a screenshot you usually have to press Pint Screen. If you want to take any other shot you press Alt+Print Screen...then paste to Paint...

Alt+Print Screen takes a shot at the window, and regular Print Screen takes the whole screen.

Are you saying that i have to open up paint whilst playing BF2 to save my screenshots, cause with my paltry amount of ram (512) doing anything complicated in Bf2 causes it to crash:cry:

I don't recall saying that, You should be able to take screenshots just fine.

Keep in mind that it can take a second or two to take a screenshot.. So make sure you're not going to die just after you hit print screen (Unles if the screenshot is really worth it :p )

Why not just use Fraps and save it any where you want and even change format (.jpg, .png, .bmp). No need fiddling with paint or any thing.

BF2 print screen works fine, you get a jpg and a png straight into your screenshots folder, the only time you need to do any 'fiddling' is when you're not ingame
