Best Internet Connection for BF2

For me this is a frequent occurance and is almost becoming normal for me...





What is a good internet connection for BF2??? I have Telstra broadband 256kps/64kps... my comp cant handle it when someone eles on my network (of 3 comps) are surfing the net etc.

What is a good Telstra Bigpond connection? I was looking at 8mps/256kps^ Cable.

Well your upload should be at least 1mb . Download does not have so much do to with ping.

Well i used optusnet broadband (512k/up and 256k/down). Dont listen to that guy above. It was fine, flawless and lagless. I now use Telstra 1500/up, 256 down and its fine. So i would recommend Telstra 512down 256 up Unlimited plan. Bigpond is really good for easy plan changes.

well i have a 488 upload speed and i dont have much probs. but i got to say some of the servers are really bad for getting lag!!!!

I have 1Mbit/192kbit cabel. It is fine with ~40players...

I was having the exact problem, but weirdly i have a fast 2.2mbs connection, so its not what i would expect. I was running BF2 on a system that only just coped. I recently build a new PC to my own specs and im running all on HIGH settings with no troubles what-so-ever, with the same servers, and the same 2.2mbs connection.

So i guess what im saying is, in my case, the connection problems SEEM to have been due to my system specifications and not so much the con itself.

i have used 768/300 kbps fine with like 40-100 ping and now i use 1500/350kbps and have like 20-60 ping when i get my 4200/350kbps back, ill be back to 15-35ping area (ALL ADSL LINES)(Norwegian servers 64man) Can play on Uk and eu servers with 20% more ping and its fine.. but if i go US server the ping is in the 90-200 range.. the rule is not to use any downloads when u are playing and NOT play on servers far away, to lower the ping.. when i get over 200 in ping, it starts to get bad gameplay.. I have one other computer on my network and this can be surfed freely with msn on ,but not when the downloads are on,then the ping shoots up with 2-400.. :)

I have a 2000/256 and I can run two comps playing online withput any problems!

Recently been upgraded to 6MB's (and 7MB's - should go up to 16MB's but getting 6MB's atm) - ping is up to 15 - 17... and 30 sometimes.

i'd say atleast a 1MB connection, this way u can atleast future proof urself. 512 is like the old 56k modem now.

If your in the connecticut,NY or NJ area you can get Optimum online. i have the boost service iving me a 30/2 connection. I ping the TBF2 server between 12-25ms

Oh yes. How many people rent a large bandwidth and conect that supply to a knackered out old antique.
Chances are that the same systems are conected by USB.

note: Nothing wrong with knackered out old antiques. Just don't expect high performance.
