    What a Concept:!!!

"""Expect polish: "We want to have all [the parts of the game] working for probably about a year before we ship. I think a big part of the success of UT will be that we've had such a long cycle of playing the game and improving it based on the idea, 'This is fun, but it would be more fun if...' and then really refining it - tweaking weapon balance, tweaking movement, tweaking vehicles, tweaking gameplay mechanics." - Steve Polge"""

UNREAL 2007 sounds SWEET. This may pull me away from bf2 just think if ea games and dice did this.

    Re: What a Concept:!!!

As good as UT is people normally come away from those types of games to something like battlefield because there is such a diversity.

I remember playing unreal tournament when it first came out when it kept going "headshot" "multi kill" "killing spree" in that deep voice, it was brilliant and i still play the UT series now and again. However i have to say battlefield just seems to have so much more than any UT game ive seen gameplay wise.

dont really like games that are logic built on fun...prefer fun built on logic.

The thing with games like this (more so with Quake) is that they are by nature boiled down...and improving them means trimming them downe...so theres a fundamental limit you hit, which i think they hit with quake 3 where you cant trim it down anymore...and thats it.

Then if you try to add stuff, you move away from the game itself.

I prefer games that move in the other direction.

Im not saying games should keep getting more complex, just that it should be balanced.

And the issue of tweakability, i think its just an old fashioned thing thats out dated and flawed.

I mean some people think its great...but going onto servers where every game is set up differently.

I much prefer one standardised game...you know where you are and what youre doing. I dont mind if the game as a whole changes and balances itself, so long as its all standardised. Thats whats good about bf2, bf2 is bf2 and thats it. There arent many things you can change, and even those can cause issues.
