    Stuttering that JUST started.

As the title states, this stupid stuttering is driving me crazy. My system can readily handle BF2 and it has been perfectly until the last couple of days, I don't get it.

I haven't installed/changed anything, just randomly I'm getting this retarted stutter that completely ruins the game.

The FPS goes from 100+ down to 40 and back up again every 10 seconds.

That's a big difference and I notice it. Anyone have GOOD advice? I have put sound quality down to low and it still happens, I've re-installed the game, I'm about to re-format unless someone has a solution.

Yes I used the search function, no I'm not going to look through 20 pages. Thanks in advance. :p

First thing to check is spyware hogging your resourses - do the necessary to check.

        Start Menu

        Control Panel

        Administrative tools

        Services

        Wireless Zero Configuration

Stop service. then right click properties disable.

This assumes you are NOT I REPEAT NOT USING WIRELESS.

check your ping then if you don't think it's spyware or some other resource hog, could be SP maintanence that will last 24-48 hrs

          Go to run > cmd

          1. Type e.g...

ping bbc.co.uk - or any regional site address, no need for www.

          -----

          2. Now type..

tracert "use the same site adress"

100's is toss, BB should be 10-50ms

[MAJOR EDIT] Wirless is constantly usless for bf2 so don't complain!

Thanks for the input guys I figured it out. Dumb mistake. I had no idea installing a BETTER shell than explorer would stutter up my system.

AstonShell, takes up less RAM but causes my BF2 to bug out...damn that was a tight program...if anyone knows what I'm talking about.
