While it's American, it's not part of contenental North America.

I'd like to know WTH happened to Canada? North America does NOT = the US. Maybe by the time AF is set to go down, us 'nucks finally said screw it and moved... the whole damned country.

I've encountered southren brothers who really didn't know that North America means US + Canada. I've also encountered tourists that figured they could drive from Vancouver to Alaska in about half an hour because of the way maps are drawn in the US (they tend to shrink Canada to save space).

Maybe Canada was obliterated from the planet by the "Axis of Evil" i.e. EA/Dice!!!

Well, that would suck... especially since EA's head R&D + Sports office is right here in Vancouver (Burnaby, the be exact) and Dice Canada is writing the BF2 patches.

One that can guarantee a lot of confusion and even anger is if you say the Republic of Ireland is in the British Isles. :)

It's correct. That term and North American are geographic terms, not political ones, but it seems to be a common mistake that some people make.
