I was in a tank on a ranked wake server a few minutes ago and was killed with a claymore. Has this ever happened to anyone?

It may have been a server glitch.
Or you could of had like no health.
the glitch i speak of is that say he layed down some mines, died and spawned as sniper. *sometimes* when he is holding out a new weapon i will show that he killed you with his held weapon instead of the mine. So he might of had the claymore mines out as you ran over the mine.

Here's two more examples:
I lay down an AT mind, than jump into a buggy and drive off! If I'm still in the buggy at the time you run over my AT mind, it will tell you that you were killed by my buggy!
I can lay an AT mind down, pick up a kit from a dead snipper, be in the middle of placing a claymore down and "you" run over the AT mind and it will show that you were killed by the Claymore, not the AT mind.Comment

Are you saying it said you were killed by a claymore in the server message or you actually saw a claymore and ran over it while in a tank and it killed you. I'm assuming its the former.Comment

The kill messages get messed up with mines.
For example... let's say player A is an engineer, and puts mines in the water at Karkand. He then runs off and gets into a mounted machine gun at the factory.
Player B rolls up in his tank, and runs over the mine. what you will see is this:
Player A [RPK-74 LMG] Player B.
Now the tank driver will think to himself: 'HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?'
It's jsut the death messages being messed up. Same could have happened with you. The engineer laid mines, picked up a sniper kit, as someone suggested earlier, whipped out the claymore...

Could two claymores and a hand grenade be enough to take out a damaged tank? I know mine + hand grenade is. It's something I like to do as an engineer.

Claymores do nothing to tanks. I've drivern past my own claymores safe that they won't even scratch the paint.Comment

It was probably the known glitch where if you kill some one it will say Mr.X[gigglegun] Mr.Y, when what you were using was the shotgun. I suppose its possible that you tank had like 1 HP left, but i think the simple glitch of saying who-killed-who with what is more likely.Comment

No, claysmores do no damage. I've set claymores at tanks, and never got the yellow hit indicator.Comment

Strangest Claymore kill I had was in one of the Specforces maps like Surge.
I had been a sniper and was holding the claymore but jumped into the passenger seat of a civvie car and decided to accompany my squad leader to our flag that was being capped. I accidentally (honest) pressed the fire button and the clay landed on the bonnet (hood to you Americans) of the car. We drove up, the claymore activated and killed the flag capper. :)Comment
