  • New requirements for medals, etc.

Just pointing my opinion. I think going to 100 and 50 hours for certain medals was a bit too drastic. For SF maps you get your ribbon at the same time as the medal, seems not really thought through. It's a fact that the award system in this game is a major factor why a lot of people continue playing.

    One last cry out:
EA, PLEASE MAKE A SECTION ON THE OFFICIAL BF2 WEBSITE WITH UPDATED AWARD REQUIREMENTS. WHY DO WE HAVE TO GUESS OR VISIT UNOFFICIAL SITES THAT VERY OFTEN ARE WRONG??????????

Not that I believe they will read my post

I like the new hours the old ones were pretty crazy.
What was the SF medal requirements? 4500 hours? If so that is insane.

YOu don't get the ribbons and medals at the same time.

Ribbons are for theatre service, so you could get 50 hours on the SAS ribbonb by playing as the Spetznaz on Ghost town, or Insurgent on Warlord.

Re: New requirements for medals, etc.

I've started playing more SF... now that there's actually a point to the SF medals.

I think that was the point of the change.

You get the ribbon after 50 hours in the theater ( for example you spend 50 hours playing Ghost Town, 20 as SAS and 30 as SPETZNAS you'll get both SPETZNAS and SAS ribbon), and you get the medal after 50 hours with that one specific army only.

Maybe, IMO the reason for the changes is because 2142 is coming out in afew months and they want all the noobs to get some stupid medals before they go buy the new game. I wish they would do something for the people who have played the game since release, like fix my AT Missles so they stop going through Targets. etc etc etc. But no, they just want to caiter to the people who got the game for Easter or something, way to go EA/Dice

Re: New requirements for medals, etc.

Well, you guys are correct regarding the 50hours ribbon/medal (although if you play SAS exclusively, you get ribbon and medal at the same time). Another thing is that you can get an SAS service ribbon without ever being an SAS, maybe a change of name for these ribbons would be a good idea?

Why EA don’t seem to bother giving us exact Award requirements is still a mystery. The community update doesn't include all requirements for the medals - some sites says 100h and best score over 100, other sites says 100h and 500 wins for your team. The requirements are discussed in other threads, so we’re guessing this time as well as we have in the past on certain awards.

Why EA never have posted any official Award requirements, except this "community update" from an EA forum (official EA?) just doesn't make sense to me!

                          Navy Cross Medal
                          Golden Scimitar Medal
                          Peoples Medallion
                          SAS Service Medal
                          Spetsnaz Service Medal

                          No complaints here!
