How can I be the best commander I can be?

I think I'd like to give commanding a try..

Some questions:

How do I give voice commands (not typing commands) to individual squad leaders?

To all squads?

I'd rather just tell them via voice command about resupply, artillery in their area, etc.. Rather than fumbling with the keyboard..

What do I get points for?

ANY advice on the technical/strategical aspects of being a commander would be greatly appreciated!!!!

The best commander I have ever played with was using a microphone and was giving orders for all the squads. All my teammates was psuhing bakc the enemy (in Karkand64) and taking flag by flag... I was a sniper at the top of the hotel and the commander told me about EVERY enemy who was trying to leak and get bihind us so I picked them one bye one ending with 12 kills and 0 deaths. We won very was despite the huge map...

Just use the V (or is it B? whichever one is not the regular talk key) key to talk to your squad leaders. As a squad leader this key also lets you talk to the commander. There are many guides on commanding, but here are a couple of things that I do.

1. Stay in the Command Screen and command! Dont go running around in a jet or some silly thing.
2. Repair your own assets with a wrench, not a supply drop. Get in a vehicle as engineer to repair your own assets. This is the only time you should not be in the command screen.
3. Scan, then UAV. Dont waste UAV by putting it where you THINK they are.
4. Be carefull with ARTY! Make sure there arent a lot of friendlies in the area
5. Spot enemies intelligently. You dont need to spot EVERY enemy, just the ones that someone can actually do something about.
6. Give sensible orders. Dont tell someone to repair your assets when they are a mile away or your main base is taken by the enemy.
7. If your main base is taken, for the love of God, please dont drop supplies on your assets to repair them. That just gives enemy spec ops more chances to blow up even more.
8. If you have no assets available to you, zoom in and spot things intelligently (see 5) and drop supplies to your teammates
9. Use voice, this establishes trust and says you know something about what you are doing (hopefully)
10. If you have assets available, and are not sure where to use them, ask the squad leaders where they want them.

1. always spot the enemy long before they get to your flags
2. save arty to stop those who get thru to your flags to stop them from taking them
3. always keep supply crates by your armor to keep them healthy
4. know the maps and what points are the most important
5. be prepared to defend your main by yourself if need be..a good class for this is sf you have a lot of weapons to help you defend
6. don't run out charging and keep getting killed you are the eyes of your team, closed eyes do no good
7. vioce is good but commorose is your best bet as when pubbing you dont know who has viop enabled on their local client or not
8. commend your team often for their good work
9. never ever drop supply crates in enemy teritory even if it is to repair your assests as you are giving the enemy supplies
10. keep that scanner and uav going

Zoom in with your mouse scroll wheel to see a birds eye view of ANYTHING including enemies, arty strikes, whatever. You can spot things zoomed in like that too.

I enjoy commanding. I agree with everything posted above espacially the statement regarding staying in Commander Screen.

Nothing irritates me more than seeing a commander running around and engaging the enemy instead of doing his job.
