Some people call it cheap, it helps me get headshots, and hey, its a video game. Who cares about these people with a warped sense of "honor" on the battlefield. Its kill or be killed. For all you n00bs out there wishing to increase your KD ratio, when you get in an encounter instantly go prone. You get an accuracy boost instantly and human reaction time is almost not quick enough to get you on the way down. For best results, go for the head on the ground. Advanced tip, hit crouch and prone alternately, this creates kind of a mid stance where your character is leaning forwards because you are doing it so fast. Really hard to hit. I'm coming out with a vid to show the affects of this, I'll post it soon.

we all noe but u really cant spam MUCH. maybe one or 2 or 3 little moves. after all, if u c me, i will gp30 u anyways.

i h8 these people that cant fight so they go prone nd shoot for the heads, i always take them out now as all u do is go round a corner a a crouched stance or my favourite a jump
i dont bunnyhop but i jump round corners as normally i get over the person then shoot them when their aimin the wrong way

I once had a tactic vs. prone used against me so simple that I just sat there without firing another shot after the initial burst and let him kill me.
Althogh I've only been playing about a month or so, he was the first person I've seen strafe left and right while firing at a prone target. It caught me that off guard.
A good thing to do if it's fairly close quarters is to just sprint, then jump over the person, spin around and blow out the back of said person's head. That seems to get far too many people who go prone.Comment

Pronespamming is a cheap substitute for any true, developed skill. Before you go talking about pwning any noobs 'with a warped sense of honour', try thinking about the fact that you're using a plainly low tactic to acheive success. Unfair personal gain at the expense of other's enjoyment. That, my friend, is the very definition of an arsehole.
Anyone who's played the game for roughly an hour can recognise this tactic. Don't encourage people to make use of tactics reserved for those without others.Comment

I can't count the number of times I've had my rifle aimed directly at somebody's chest only to have them disappear completely from my sight when they go prone. On another note, I swear the prone animation isn't synchronized with the hit boxes because there are times when the enemy prones and on the way down they practically throw themselves head first into the barrel of my rifle, only to be completely unscatched.Originally posted by Endless954
I don't think prone-spamming is cheap; it's just an unfortunate consequence of the way BF2's game mechanics work. It's an easy to use maneuver that improves how well you fight, so of course everyone is going to do it.

Working the engine via a glitch is hardly fair or legit. Its cheap but you dont have to make excuses on my behalve. Just do it and hope I never land my crosshair on you.Comment
