Commander bug?

Thought it was weird....

I joined our server, but showed up as a private, applied for commander anyway and got it. So I'm in my commander screen and my arty launches itself. Out of nowhere I am firing the arty when I did not do so. I chalk it up to some bug and ignore it.

Then it does it again....

The arty was firing at targets, where people were, and was obviously AIMED not just launched.

At this point I say F it and resign.

Next round. Apply for commander again hoping all is well, but since I show up as a private some sergeant got it. So as I go to hop in a vodnik and cap a flag all of a suddden it gives me the accept or decline commander option...when I already lost out on commander.

I look and sure enough we ALREADY have a commander. I hit decline and move on.

So it occured to me that this same thing had happened the previous round and it was ANOTHER commander launching my arty. Has to be the answer.

Anyone ever have this happen? Any ideas?

Never really had this bug, I've had my application rejected in 2 seconds and we hadn't even elected a commander yet though...thats what ea needs to really do, bring out a bug-free patch, fix the red tag and they wouldn't need 2142(which is gonna blow sacks, gayass mechs)

From these forums, I read that there is a commander hack out there that does this very thing.

Don't worry about it, soon you will be able to drop vehicles on locations even if you dont want to as well. This will take the focus off the initial problems.

Woah that's a weird bug.....I had a commander supply hacking before. There were like AKAGABILLION supply crates coming down.

Don't worry about it, soon you will be able to drop vehicles on locations even if you dont want to as well. This will take the focus off the initial problems.

Did you try a server reboot? This helps with no squad bug, though I am not ruling our some sort of hack.

Well we had just rebooted the server immediately before the first round. It was getting laggy. So with a fresh reboot I was surprised this happened.

I'm reluctant to call it a hack because had I accepted the commander slot the second round, the commander would have been just as confused as me when his arty fired by itself! I think it's a bug.

omg, haha, if that happened to me, i would hv accepted the commander n fired the arty.... :)
