BattleField 2 new computer problem

When im in single player or local(by myself) i get 50-60 fps with maxed out video settings and x6 AA highest res my monitor allows, but when i connect to a online game i get 15 fps and horrible lag, also of all the 10,000 or whatever servers i cant find one with under 120 ping and i ran this speed test on speakeasy and got these results, not sure if this problem is a connection problem or something else but this is what i got

Upload Speed: 748 kbps (93.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
FIC KTBC51G motherboard
2GB 400mhz DDR RAM

i've heard problems comin' from that motherboard, tho it is unlikely, it could be screwin' around w/ ur threading of the system which, tho rare, can cause bad internal connection problems from certain parts of the system... u may also try doing a complete reboot for about 4 hrs., that often works

what do you mean by doing a complete reboot, using the xp cd and reinstalling the OS?

Can you run the game on a LAN to rule out a generic networking issue? Update the firmware on your router too or do a test to see if its dropping packets.
