Why wont this retarded game freaking install!

I recently reformated windows, re-installed it. And, im trying to figure the problem with the performance (it runs like crap) before i re-install bf2 again. But now, im trying to install it, and a error comes up. It keeps saying during the installation:

Failed to install Battlefield 2, try again from the beginning.

I tried twice, and this is my thrid. What the **** is wrong with this game. This is ****ING ******** and its really pising me off. Now the game wont ****ing installl, what happaned to my freaking 50 bucks? Gone? This is total ********!

Geforce 6800 128MB
1 GIG of RAM
AMD 2200+ ~1.8GHz

It ran before, so what the hell is diffrent now....

Turn off anything that is anti virus and such

Try to upgrade on more ram, maybe even a gfx, or make sure you have up to date drivers for everything. Then reinstall drivers make sure to use driver cleaner programs.

Im sure i have all the latest drivers. Im able to run Americas Army and Call of duty 2 fine. I should be able to at least install BF2. And i closed norton anti virus... but still.

It probably won't install because you haven't completely uninstalled the game from your computer. There are still bits and peices left. Search EA's tech support for manually removing the game.

ok. sorry, i didn't read your post as carefully as I should have but just assumed you were having the same problem that I had in the past. Also, make sure your disc is not scratched or dirty. My DVD is so worn out that anytime I want to reinstall the game, I have to borrow my dad's copy.

I did a google search, seems like alot of people are having the same problem. But no one ever responds. When they do respond, its the same responce. clear up the computer of any keys or whatever. BF2 has never been installed on this fresh version, because i reformated, so theres no trace of BF2.

Please, someone, help me. I did the mistake of buying CoD2, dont make me regret buying this pieace of **** also. All the more reason im going back to consoles when PS3 comes out. Theres never any computer problems, or installation problems that stops you from playing a game. Unless you TV blows up or soething.

With the addition of the update patches, it is of no relevance that your system could run bf2 before. In your situation I would do what vascular suggested and if that doesnt work upgrade your puter!

check you BIOS setup. if you reformatted and reinstalled windows you might have an IRQ conflict or sharing
