    No.

I love playing sniper wiht my M95, heck I'll even beat a tank whore in points if I'm up to it.

But you NEVER want to stay in the same place for more than 2 kills.

The M95 makes a hell of a sound, and they'll come looking for you. Most people know about claymores so they'll prolly stand behind a wall and grenade spam you. Few seconds, later, BOOM your dead and you can't do anything about it.
SVD's and T88's make even more of a racket with their semi-auto.

But staying somewhere motionless = asking for another sniper to HS you.

Run around with the rest of the troops, and LEARN TO AIM AT SOMEONE"S HEAD FAST! I've nailed so many PKMers who go prone 20m away from me and I'll nail 'em in the face. Few seconds later a kick vote pops up and cries of "OMG YOU F**KIN AIMBOT"

Eh .. Marveric, you only play SAK so instead of giving us advice on sniper rifles why dont you come up with some insight on the map instead. I personally think its crap so why dont you try to convince me otherwise :)

Karkand is the basic assault map. It's like the dust/dust2 of counterstrike. there's few ways to be pawned unless you're a noob or having a bad day and there's so many places to hide and fight. It's also a truly huge map and even on a 64 player server, if there are scattered captured flags, there could be a dozen skirmishes going on. People like the basics and this is just a basic map. Hell, what am I saying? why do people only play dust and dust2 on counterstrike? maybe it just feels right.

as for my favorite sniper spot, when US attacks suburb alot of MEC like to camp at the top of that wall. You all know the wall, you all camp it too, grenade spamming. Anyway, at the bottom of the ramp by the square there is a ladder going up that build on the right (as you're coming down the ramp). It is such a perfect position for sniping the wall campers that I pray every round I can get to it so I can get the big points. it's so hectic at that spot they can't take the time to look for you.

if you want a good spot to defend that wall as sniper, go to the train accident. Go to the top of the ramp and climb up that building the US is usually in front of when assault the accident. a sniper rifle, if you're set to 100% zoom will be able to shoot, with no bullet drop, at the USMC guys hiding around the corner from the wall.

I've gotten huge KDRs from these two points. Good hunting.

          Re: Sniper Positioning: Karkand

I just walk around with the assault troops and cap flags as sniper.

Best spot for sniping through is the top of the factory roof as US. You can usually pop 8-10 people who are waiting for tanks/APCs before you are noticed. And they won't be able to kill you except by artillery, and since you are right there you can hear arty firing and hide.

            Nice tutor flying egg!

@Cannonfodder that Destroyed APC rules,As USMC I was there almost whole round without being noticed and a MEC support guys was running towards me and he didnt see me and I was like few steps from him!

As a mEC i succeded by rushing to that APC layed a claymores near to see if some Marine is near and baserapped on their spawnpoint like a biatch lol(What a luck they were pushed back by MECs to their base)!

I don't like the last four. As I found've found you. I have 5.1, and I notice where sniper fire is coming from. Also, those positions are obvious and generally I'd be advancing from behind each points you were aiming in the screen shots. They are nice positions, but I am generally aiming the other way?.. And I'm sure you've missed many other positions.
I like the 2nd one, it's hard to get a position away from fire that the fog distance is decent enought to aim down alleyway and in the building arch. Covered the fence. Only real threat at the beginning of game is someone spawning sniper purposely for you.

That destroyed APC is best used as support. Nading is law and infinite. surprise attacks are blown away by a bigger gun. Aiming slowed down will still be precise. Line of sight is too short to be a sniper asset. And it's more fun there as a MEC blowing away USMC (Hide from tank sight)

                  Re: Sniper Positioning: Karkand

Yea, the last two positions (on top of box car) are a bit too easy to be spotted, i like the first position the most.

Like I've said, you'd be absolutely amazed how unobservant the majority of players are. Some of the locations listed seem so obvious, but give them a go. Like I said, it's astounding how rarely you'll get attacked in them. It's almost as if they're so obvious that they're neglected.

I guess I'm just one of those observant few. And the one's that spotted me there without having to look lol

Meh.. oh well, they seem to work for me. Don't forget (and not to seem irritated at all), I'm always open to suggestions and will include them in the original guide if they're at all valid.

There are some pretty solid spots here.

Although i am rarely a sniper, its fun to try it out once in awhile when the time calls for it. One of my favorite sniper spots is behind the back-passage across the river. I just duct under the train and get a clear view of the flag as well as across the river.

Good spots and nice work however the last two are obvious and will get you killed. As an MEC sniper at Gatehouse the first thing I do is sweep the box cars for USMC troops and then I sweep under and then I sweep the them again. Usually get 5-6 kills with 64 players= THEY ARE TOO COMMON. I would recommend using the left of those cars (if you are facing Gatehouse.. left). go to the end of the cars and slide below the hump the train tracks create. Most enemies will not look this way. Basically as a sniper you want to have positions (switch often) that allow you a large field of view, but that do not expose you to the casual eye. I am uploading my sniper guide from www.secretsofbattlefield.com soon so eyes/ears open...
