Lots of lag on multiplayer

Hey, n00bish question here, I'm new to gaming, don't plan on getting much into it but I can't resist BF2.

Anyway, I have satellite hispeed internet with DiRECWAY. Does anybody have any tips to connecting to multiplayer servers?

Any time I check, either none appear or I need to have a password. When I was lucky enough to get on a server just that ONE time, it lagged so much... like every other second.

Is there any advice?

**BUMP** For the other support people.

Firstly, have you checked your BF2 options in the screen to the correct connection setting?
You need to open BF2 and check that its set right.
Also there are boxes that need to be looked at aswell in the Multiplayer section.
I dont have a screenshot at the moment and the game is not on aslo (im at work) but there are boxes that have filters, filter out rooms that need a password for starters. Filter out rooms that do not have punkbuster enabeld.
Im not sure of the other options tho.

What speed is your internet?
