Just wondering if a mod has been made for just air combat, meaning that there are aircraft for everyone to get in and fight with whether its all jets or all choppers or a mix.

There's a map, it's basically Wake Island with several aircraft carriers filled with different jets and choppers.
It's called BF2C_WakeAirshow. -

Try AirMAPS (airmaps.fr), it is a mod which change Battlefield 2 to a fun game. There are a lot of planes and helos, which respawn immediately after one go in the air, and there are some other cool things added, like the launchs of cuts or a colored smoke for smoke grenade. The maps Dalian Plant and Strike at Karkand has been modified for the occasion.
Don't think "french mods are bad, because **** frenchies have made it" before test it !
