PunkBuster was indeed updated today, or even right now, not really sure. THe server i was playing on, everyone was complaining of lag, and lots of disconnects. In the past PB updates sometimes made a whole lot of people fail to update via in game. So tons had to do the manual update. Just a heads up guys, if you are getting PB kicks for fail to update, download Punkbuster Setup, and do it yourself. This might be the update that will slow some of the more recent neon skin hacks and such. Wheeeee.




Just got kicked, saying PunkBuster failed to update......server was pretty laggy. (ea official server) Anways...it was laggy then i got the disconnect.

wondering if PB did update and my client wont update for some reason, or

the server just was sucking out, and thats why it failed.

anyone know?

you can manually update and all will be well. this happened with DC once.

K, thanks Troy......i just downloaded PB setup, so i should be fine. Just wondered if anyone had a heads up if pb was updated today..

Ok..........just did the PB setup, from evenbalance, and YES there was a Punkbuster update today. The server i was on, everyone was complaing of lag, so, im assuming its just updating "NOW", or this is gonna be one of those PB updates where a ton of folks are gonna have to do it manually.

I just checked mine manually and its up to date. I wonder though we had lag troubles on our server yesterday, we rebooted the server then it was fine, maybe pb was updating, not sure. Mine must have been done automatically.

EDIT I see pb client version as: v1.227|A1365 and server version as v1.184|A1365|C1.227

EDIT2: according to evenbalance there hasn't been an update for ages, especially for the client:

I actually checked PB last night... and got a new version... so it was updated before today.
