Since after 1.22 patch, it is very hard for jet's heat seeking missile to hit copters while they are flying high. I am wondering if anyone have tried to use bomb on the copters while they are flying?

Uh, i don't think any of the patches changed the bomb's special attribute, I.E. falling like a high explosive stone. -

Post 1.20 patch, A2A against helo is so easy, just lock and fire. But after 1.21 or 1.22 patch, DICE changed A2A somewhat so that A2A is less likely to hit a helo. This thread is not talking about the A2A.

What the hell.. why would you even waste missles on a heli..... you have a huge ass powerful cannon for a reason you know...

Its pretty funny when a Su34 bombs the carrier and one of the bombs hits the side and goes flipping across the carrier, like a crazy bomb, and hits a chopper repairing. Ive done it so often. Funniest **** evah.Comment

In a f-35b on wake, i was taking off and there was a FULL-transport heading to the carrier and I did most of the damage with my chaingun but it barrel rolled under me so I finished it off with my bombs, lots of fun.Comment

All I can offer is this...
as said Above....
USE YOUR MACHINE GUN.....
I dont even switch to missle lock on a chopper, I just come at them from the the side and or behind them... Gunning away.. and BOOM
They are either blown up or burning to blow....
The other option would be missles....
1. lock on...slow up .....
2. chopper flares...
3. wait for flares to dissipate...
4. RE-Lock & fire 3 missles... and it usually takes them out...Comment

One day I was on the carrier on wake and waited for the plane to spawn. I saw a j-10 coming in and wanted to take out a Blackhawk that was about to take off. he dropt a bomb RIGHT on top of the windshield but the blackhawk was still intact. It was only smoking a bit. So cheap.Comment

I like to bomb choppers hovering over flags. I've also bombed a cobra in forward flight with the SU-34.
And if you're going slow enough to kill a tank with the guns on a jet, I'm going to kill you before you can get back up to speed. The reason people use missiles on choppers is because they are VERY easy to replenish, they do tons of damage when they hit, and they don't require that you slow down and make yourself vulnerable to anything and everything that can hurt an airborne vehicle.Comment

You have to be a damn good shot to take out a chopper with bombs when it's flying. Although when I see a chopper capping a flag I won't have much trouble landing two bombs on it's rotors
They don't notice it untill they're dead.. Unlike guns or missles.. Wich is why it's effective.
Using jet guns against a tank isn't really a clever idea :p I did some testing offline by hovering an f-35b in front of vehicles and it turned out that tanks only take real damage from guns if you hit them on the 'soft spots'.
