    What fps is normal performance...

Got a question... what is normal performance...

in bf2 with everything on ultra high accept for lightning and dynamic shadows on medium with 4 x aa
    40 player game

    lowest-48ish
most of the time- low fifties-seventies
    no action- 99/100

And in cssource cs_militia everything high 4 x aa 1280/1024 vertical sync
    HDR

    lowest-40
most of the times- fifties sixties
    no action-70 to 110 fps

this normal performance or do i need to crank it down... just wondering if im playing as it should....
im on a 17" LCD... thnx

looks fine to me on 64 players in alot of action my framerate regularly goes to about 35-38 usually arty strikes or a big infantry battle

40 players its usually up in the 60-90fps range

that's definitely normal for your setup, although I personally will drop to the 30s in this one spot in office with 20 players in CS:S, or if there's a lot going on at one time. Kinda hard to imagine that it NEVER goes under 40...

oooh and I just got an email saying that eVGA is ready for my invoice! yay! (stepping up to a 7900gt) now I just have to find it... :)

hmm..good or bad its hard to tell

i play bf2 with a usal 20-24 frames per second and 30fps is like smooth as butter for me..but when i play cs1.6 to get my usual 70fps..and then it dips down to 30fps it feels like utter crap and laggage...but at ur high level of fps..theres no complaining

No. You must upgrade every time ATI/nVidia add an "x" to their product lines. By the time they've added a "t", you're too late, and your electrons are doomed to suckiness.

So, I'll be a happy "non-pro gamer" with my x800xt AIW until they come out with something that has three x's and a t. HA! That'll take them years!

With my lame sli setup, i play at 1600x1200 all high 4xAA and 8xAF. But i see framerate dip to 30s even high 20s alot on a 64 player server. I think bf2 is the worst engine designed ever. My avg fps is 50 and only gets to 99 with no action going on.

Im seriously considering returning this 20inc LCD and use my old 19inch. I thought SLI would trully shine at higher res but i was wrong.
