Movie / Game GIF's

After seeing quite a few funny animations and other still frame "l33t speak" stories, I decided to try one myself. Especially after seeing a Bf2 animation of a movie from a fellow forum member I see almost every time. However my GIF involves a more realistic portrayal of BF2 GUI.

Only this would have been so suitable for this scene.

Title: "Neo gets 5 kills in 1 round"




Very small, low quality I know (for hosting reasons)
I have a larger better version which I'll upload somehow, but not viewed in web browsers.

I'd like to discuss more examples and GIF editors, if you please. My unorthodox method involves an AVI to GIF conversion and is much more difficult than need be.

easiest way to do what you did would be to take screen caps of the movie as it plays, then combine the captures into a single GIF.

converting that long of a video sequence to GIF and then chopping out the excess frames is pretty time-consuming as you've learned.

Oh the screen capping was no problem at all. All I need is a good, (preferably free) Gif composing program.

All I have is an AVI to GIF converter. Since I built the whole playing order and timing in Vegas to compile it into an AVI the conversion just wastes frames playing what is one image (about 8+ frames to one image) So I have little control in this Gif maker and it's amounting in huge file sizes.

use a full-featured graphics editer

GIMP is free and more powerful than anyone that doesn't do graphic work for a living needs.

Even some people that are professionals could get away with it.

with GIMP, you can take the exported GIF with all the trimmings and chop out excess frames, or simply take screen captures of the video and string them together, modifying the time that each frame is displayed so that it's not jarring and choppy.
