Running BF2 help

Hey Guys,

I am using the following to run BF2

1) Intel P4 3.4Ghz
2) 2*256 Radeon 9600xt graphics
3) 1Gb of RAM
4) ADSL connection

and i used to be able to play it fine until patch 1.2 came out which now seems to have given me mass slow down. I cannot even really play it because even targeting someone when there are more than a few things happening in the screen is impossible.

Now i have made sure that all non-vital processes are not running to free up RAM and also un-installed re-install BF2 and installed the latest patch and it really didnt help that much. Still difficult to play.

So can anyone please tell me what to try next? i am pretty sure that i have enough overall juice to be running it sweetly as i have in the past. Maybe i need to setup my graphics card properly or completely uninstall (i didnt delete all the directories and completely remove all contents from my pc) it again.

Thoughts pleeeeeeeeese?

Have you tried deleting your shaders in:

C:\Documents and Settings\*\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache ?

Delete all of the files inside the folders and not the folders themselves.

defrag, check Internet connection, get newer/working video drivers. more RAM (optional)
