I found a program called GameXP after searching google for ways to increase performance in Battlefield 2. It's a free program that optimizes Windows XP and your pc to get the highest amount of performance for games. Suprisingly I was able to get about a 20 FPS increase, no ********. We had a thread about this program a while back. It got to the point where I had to remove it.

This program makes some VERY questionable modifications to the windows setup and initialisation processes. 3 pages of users who downloaded it reported instability, crashes, freezing and Windows general protection faults, upon removal they were able to play again.

My advice: No program can 'quick fix' a system, only good housekeeping of your computer, regular defrags, antuvurus scans and spyware checks can do that. Putting your system in the hands of 3rd party applications like this is just not worth the risk.
