they guns are superior to vanilla so if you want to get things like the L85A1, the mg36 g36e and the f2000 yeah. I find that the maps are good but there is not enough of them considering you have to restart the game instance to go from sf to vanilla.

Ok, like many I've been dealing with the crazyily stat-jumping SF weapons that will NOT get a nerf because no SF patches will be coming out..at least I tink.. So, I'm thinking about getting SF just for some of the crazily IMBA guns that they have...such as teh medic ubar gun....and of course the get-u-banned-first-time-use-addicintg flash bangs..kinda like meth...yumm...Yeah..so I've listed some of the reasons to get SF, you can help me decide whether to get it or not..
1. Uber flash bangs...yeah im just gunna sit next to supply crates and spam these and probably get banned but no b4 i get some knife kills on some blind soldiers(sounds bad..not really)
2. Ubar medic gun...yeah burst mode is always betta...bigga guns usually r...
3. kool engineer unlock..hells yeah finally a smg for actual fighting outside of ur comfy vehicle
4. kool anti tank unlock...awesome..instead of a big-giant-150 pound "shotgun" that ur luggin around..u get a kool, decent machine gun..kool beans
5. Awesome sniper...quiet..and deadly, and accurate..what more do ya want?
6.Scar-L I like laser scopessssssss......
7. Quiter support unlock.....wonder if support has earplugs for that PKM..?

I bought it just for the unlocks, but after recently playing some of the maps I have to say it's worth every penny.

I'm more into the infantry stuff in bf2 (with a little armor and chopper play now and then) and the maps, as well as some of the new weapons like the anti-tank RPG (god I would love to see that in vanilla bf2) make it an absolute blast to play.

I was getting a little burnt out from the vanilla bf2 city maps and SF is providing the exact diversion I was in need of.

It's a very well done expansion pack and if you enjoy infantry combat, you will love it.

in my personal opinion (i dont have sf but ive played it b4) sf is like bf2 except at night. if u like night maps..tehn get it..cuz whenver i play a nightmap...its wicked fun like as if ur in d-day (paratrooper drop part) but the only reason why i dont have it is that i tried installing it on this comp (borrowed a firend's cd) and it ran like crap on my system

This late in the games lifecycle its a pass. Have one of your buddies who bought it unlock the new guns for you and enjoy vanilla. Lack of support, separate and dwindeling servers. Its lost alot or most of its players. As the patches have come the players left. The guns act different and there is noticable lag issues so people with lesser machines dont like it. Some areas of the best map lag like a serious bitch and everyone on the server starts to leave sometimes, its absurd thier testing methods are great. Apparently the engine as great as it is cant handle a large number of players inside of the weak ass structures. Theres a massive mosque that everyone can get choked into and many players report FLAT unplayable condiditons. Its much like vanilla, poorly made unbalanced maps, armor in crazy places. Helos where there shouldnt be. They are way off. Play Nations at War mod. It owns the hell out of SF and its free.

OK, I'm glad I read this thread: I was planning on buying Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, but now that it's turned out to be somewhat of a dog, I'll just go ahead and get SF...

I can't resist it. I love BF2 and lately I've gotten into the habit of grabbing dead guys weapons and I NEED THOSE ADVANCED WEAPONS. DO YOU UNDERSTAND??? I NEED THEM!

And you can only play Mashtuur and Karkand so many times. I need some new maps. I'll be seeing you guys there soon.

And no jet planes! Infantry battles... this is going to be goodl I'll remove my HL2 from my C drive and trade it in to get the discount at Electronic Boutique.

SF is awesome. TBH i dont care for the unlocks. Just give me my ak and i am happy. If i cant get one i take it off a dead body :P

I think there are aspects about the game that kicks a$$ but if you like choppers then fly with BF2 but the little extras is what makes the game. I still play BF2 but here and there I play special forces...

Just got it myself. Mixed feelings. Love many of the things mentioned here already. Lot's of maps have heaps more cover and debris for infantry. Would like it much more if lag wasn't such a problem on Warlord and Iron Gator (and often flying the new helis)... Warlord and Iron Gator are basically unplayable with 64p.

Not true...adjust your in-game settings or tweek your system...just check out the technical forums for lots of hints and tips to tweek.

SF is worth every penny, I’ve nearly played it a 100 hours more then BF2. It’s a great change to BF2, as there are no planes! Most of the maps are really good and more infantry based. Plus you get zip lines and grappling hooks, which add a new dimension to the maps and all the extra gun unlocks to.

It's only 15 uk pounds so I figured why not, if i don't like the game I still have the unlocks. Should be here tomorrow. :)
