    Not reading my disk...

Since i have purchased the game it has been running smoothly until recently.

I insert the disk and the little menu comes up on its own, i click bf2 and a bigger screen of bf2 comes up, then this pops up - "Please insert the Battlefield 2 Install Disc and select OK to retry." I have the DVD one so i only have 1 disc. My computer is obviously reading the disc because the little menu comes up but the actual program wont start. I tried the old toothpaste trick before when this happened and it worked right after, but it didnt work this time.

    Please help.

haha toothpaste trick yeah thats classic! welcome to the forums. The toothpaste trick is smearing tooth paste onto your disc to clear up the scratches it really works, unless you have little scratchy things in your tooth paste then it makes it worse

Haha yeah idk my friends told me to try and helped me and it worked. You just rub toothpaste on the disk and then wipe it all off... i know it doesnt sound too good for the disc but it worked last time

you know what is funny about this that actually information on the disk is one the top side of the disk. Basically the labels opposing side is where all the information is. Cleaning the other side is just like cleaning plastic.....so if you really want to find a good disk cleaner take a common piece of plastic in your house and test it with different products ....but once you harm the label side of the disk ....guess what ....your spent there is nothing that is going to fix your problem,

The data is on the silver film in the middle of the plastic, however if you scratch the plastice is can defract the lazer and its then unable to read that pert of the disk.
