PunksBusted WILL NOT listen to reason

They have me on a Master Ban List for a 2 min kick multihack, and this was around the time everyone was getting kicked because punkbuster was ****ing up. They also say my BF2.exe was changed, and I play on a shared computer.

They will NOT take me off this ****ing list, even though I have not been banned by PB at all, only 2 min kicked once, and I even have that Corrupted File/Memory error that keeps coming back and PB says to change out your RAM to fix this problem.

So besides the widespread PB errors kicking everyone and PB causing RAM errors, the system works. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

They won't listen to reason. Is there any way to actually go about reasoning with these idiots? They quote their list and say they are PERFECT, therefore I am hacking, but I am obviously not.

They are a bit of nazis over there, from my personal experience. I've never been on their list for anything, but I used to go there a bit to check the list over manually to see who was booted recently and what have you.

I engaged in a few conversations with them on their boards also, and if your opinion is not the same as theirs, they will delete your posts. I and several others found this out when discussing a client side mod called ClearPoint for Desert Combat, and because my opinion and that of a few others was not what they wanted to hear, our replies got deleted and the thread got locked. I've seen them do the same with other threads also, not sure if it is still run by the same site/forum moderators today, but if it is still the same people, well, 'Good Luck'.

It is sort of funny that they have an appeal procedure when they have @ 28,000 bans and 0 successful appeals. Sort of gives you a subtle hint about how it is going to turn out.

I agree with IVfluids. while they have an active forum, most threads are replied to with a link to appeal, and then the topic starter called a hacker by several 'server admins' whos only goal is to show how big their e-penis is by how many bans they have in their sig. then finally the topic is locked so no further discussion can take place, except for moderators, who can post after the thread is locked usually post a few quick comebacks of their own. Ive seen several contoversial topics locked after hundreds of posts (rvs rmode anyone?) because the mods didnt like like the publics point of view.

-whew-, that said i generally agree with their operating proceedures.

they dont unban people from their 'psb' list without PB telling them the ban was an error. And I dont think they have an appeal process, the appeal has to go thru evenbalance.

If I can still play the game under my nick, they have nothing on me. If PB didn't ban me, then I shouldn't be on their ****ty list.

they only have authority that they have created. not all servers use thier list, its just one more option for server admins.

PB doesnt do MD5 checks (or at least they didnt used to), so yeah, you were banned by punksbusted, but of course you knew that.

I wasn't staff at the time of the ClearPoint debate, though I do recall it going on, even if I didn't read it (as a Joint Ops player). I would be very disappointed if moderators were deleting posts because of your opinion, however the site and moderating staff are quite different now.

The site has matured and changed for the better, the forums have become more relaxed and better moderated I believe during the time I have been at PsB.

0? Where did you get that from? PsB has removed plenty of bans. I can't put a figure on the amount released via appeals, but it is certainly not zero as you suggest.

I would disagree and say you haven't visited recently, or that you're looking at a small minority, before our moderating staff arrive.

The procedure for moderating staff when they have a thread about a ban or appeal is to apply a multimod which gives the poster a link to the appeal information page, which details what information the player needs to gather and how to go about appealing and closes the thread. This is done precisely to reduce the chance of other forum members from remarking on the ban or player and to ensure the player goes through the appeals system.

We have an appeals process and the majority of appeals don't come down to determining PB error.

You misunderstand. PB only bans players under select circumstances. PsB is aiming to bridge the gap between local server bans and what EB do by banning for standard PB violations.

Authority? PsB is an organisation set up by its members to share data from their own servers between each other. That is the core operation and concern of the site - appeals and incorrect violations come with the territory. Our staff try their very hardest to ensure that the bans are accurate, however we rely on PunkBuster itself, as you'll appreciate plus an inherent tendency for tall tales.

If you believe your appeal was biased (you don't explicitly say what is biased) then I invite you to e-mail me at omnix at punksbusted dot com and I will look into it. I'm not involved with the appeals system normally and only under exceptional circumstances.

We don't hold bans for modified stock files - the ban reason would not have been this. You are probably looking at a violation that was recorded against the GUID.

Happened to me before.... Was playing with a big smile :) and boom, you have been banned from this game. I've contacted a PB guy and what he say to me ? My key cd is duplicated.... What could i do ? Re-buy Bf2 and its what i does.... My game time learn to me that PB are f***er's !

this is really bad luck. PB cant be guilty for a duplicate cd key, only the devloper of the tool, which creates keys, are guilty, from my point of view, beside the guy who used a cheat with your key. he´s 100% guilty, no question. or did you shared the key with a friend?

I've gotten the MD5 mismatch tons of times...all while playing on my regular server that does MD5 checks and reports to the master list.

I've never been banned or put on a list, ever. Like the guy from p-busted said, obviously it was something else that got you there.

Also, I believe it is ultimately up to the server operator to examine these bans before sending them in to the master list.
