Re: Vietnam Remembered
Looks like no one wants to remember Vietnam :p. I never played it myself but I considered buying it before BF2 came out. Good thing I didn't.

Re: Vietnam Remembered
Somone mentioned in the other thread that most people hated the game so I thought I'd find out. I bought the game 2 or 3 months before BF2 but still voted "Good" based on my limited experience. I think I'll load it again. Maybe it just suffers from being the middle child.
Your sig is the funniest thing I've read in a while. "...and my brains started to work." Terroser's native language can't be English or we are in trouble.

haha. I wanna play some 1942 myself. I keep letting that game slip by whenever I have the money to get it.Originally posted by DeadlyMACDSomone mentioned in the other thread that most people hated the game so I thought I'd find out. BFV blew chunks ahoy.
I played it for a month then put it back on the shelf.
Then a little mod came out shortly after called Point of Existance.
After that I couldnt stop playing.

Re: Vietnam Remembered
I thought it was a great game, I used to play on a server where they modded it so only hueys spawned and it was just all out heli wars, it was a blast.

Re: Vietnam Remembered
Below Average. It just never played well on my PC, and I just didn't think that it was as good as BF1942 or any of the mods for BF1942 (DC, FH, etc.)

Re: Vietnam Remembered
It was dogged by some poor balancing aspects with certain kits on first release, and by the time they were ironed out most people had lost interest. But really feature for feature it had more to it than BF42 and BF2:
-Choppers were pretty damn good, I prefered the Huey gunship to any of the choppers in BF2. I also prefered the flight dynamics, they could turn a lot quicker
-There was an AA kit, and it could actually hit air vehicles
-The vehicles has selectable period music
-You could airlift vehicles
-Cong could dig "tunnels" which you could spawn from
-There was user operable artillery
-More than one game mode
-US boats were much better (PBR fast attack boat and floating helipad)
-Had co-op
Anyone else feel a bit short changed by the latest incarnation of Battlefield? Simply put, if the features of BFV were teamed up with the improved graphics and game mechanics of BF2, itd make for a sweet game. BFV is much more of a favourite at the LANs I attend due to the co-op mode.

Re: Vietnam Remembered
BF:V never ran well on my PC, which is a shame, because although it had some issues, I felt the game had potential. BF:V was the first of the Battlefield games where you could fire out the side of APC's for one thing, although like in BF2 it's usually no good except for suppresive fire.
One map that was fun was a map where the US started on an Island and the NVA/VC on the mainland. I remember having a lot of fun shooting down US choppers in that map. :)

Re: Vietnam Remembered
I really hate the game since I hate the terrible mono-jungle maps and Vietnam style it's crappy in my eyes (DON'T FLAME ME) just my opinion..
