If punishes don't deduct points then what is the point?

If you don't have points deducted from punishes then what is the point?

    Thanks.

I think that punishing is stupid and have only done it a few times when I was a new player because I did not know better. More experienced players don't really care about this. So what if you lose a few points.

The point is to kick asshats who are tking intentionally. 3 Punshes within a certain time alloted = kick.

Tks themselves do not count towards auto-kicks only punishes do. The point therefore is to have a way to kick GENIUNE griefers and accidental tk'ers should just suffer less points for not being careful. Most servers default from 3-5 punishes for auto-kick.

Unfortunatly there are a lot of idiots that hit punish regardless of what happened, it is the weakness of the system that was designed for never punishing unless you have a griefer that is TKing on purpose.

In an ideal world there would be 100 times less punishing as griefers are rare in game, i would guess that 1 in 200 TKs was actually intended in reality, maybe even less.

In some servers punish is not allowed for accidental TK. It appears on your stats though.

CS is rated M and it attracts the same crowd. Guess who bought the game for them?

OK, that is what I thought. Thanks for verifying it for me.

It's actually a perty smart system. Unfortunatly, we're not dealing with a smart player base.

Yes, there's the obvious reason that some servers have the "x amount of punishes = kick" thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of karma system in the stats. Just a guess.

YEAH! I mean like totally, if you can't really punish someone with negative points (because we all know points mean everything) then what is the purpose?

What's scarey is this post indicates to me that you've been punishing all along with some stupid smirk on your face that you somehow "got back" at the guy who just TK'd you. Then you find out it doesn't actually deduct any additional points and you run over here to complain about how useless the punish system is.

It blows my mind more people don't wake up to this fact that punishes are ONLY tallied up and when they reach a certain threshold (usually/default of 3) that player gets kicked and can't rejoin for only that round.

As Wargimp says, it's a system designed to extricate griefers without administrative attention. It's probably the best damn idea I've ever seen in a game and probably the most abused by the nimrods that have no clue what it's about. Perfect idea, imperfect users. Bleh. I hate people. Thank god I get to kill them everyday.

You guys ever get punished for a TK by some guy in your very own squad? I always love telling that fool off over VoIP before I lock and kick him from my squad. Honestly. WTF. Join a squad and then assume your squad is out to get you? Arg. Morons. Honestly I'm going to start griefer accounts just to start hunting down TK punishers...
